Barbara - beautiful - I love this block - it is one of the first - imagine that that I ever made. I can't believe I went for such a tough block to start with - the quilt was gorgeous though and I did it all by hand. I learned a lesson in that quilt though - never use Walmart fabrics in your quilts - some are good but when I washed this quilt - about the 5th time one of the fabrics in the quilt completely disappeared - it just shredded... amazed me - I was very upset - I did take it apart and it is in a bag somewhere to be redone... funny the things you remember - you did a great job!
Thea thank you , and yes I know what you mean about the fabric from Walmart I never buy it from there..for quilting . I have purchased some of there flannel fabric when I redid the underpads for my client and they did hold up well and get washed alot.. I have some old quilts from Don's mother that has fabric that needs to be replaced .these are all handmade and quilted. I have done a few fabric repalments but its a slow process, At the time I didn't even have the right kinda of fabric to do this .of course i do now . but its just gonna take me forever to fix em.. Barbara
EAT!! SLEEP !! QUILT!!
This is my third G-8. Hand pieced with freezer paper templates:
Great block Kris. How many of each block are you making?
My plan is for three each. I'm concentrating on the one that matches Jane's colours but hope to get to the others later. They won't have the same border though.
My G8 & one of my favorites! I love stars.
Oh very pretty!
Finally! An easy one! Yay!
Beautifully done, Patricia4. Besides lovely fabrics, you did a great job putting it together.
In the beautiful Pacific Northwest!
Thanks Judy, I liked this one too. I was ready for an easy block! ;-)
Pretty block Patricia. Nicely done.
Patricia4, I love this one. Did you hand sew? Or is it paper pieced or template.
Thanks Judy! I used paper piecing. I find that I am paper piecing most of the blocks lately - not all, but certainly a good percentage of them.
