Lets back down to an easy block - lesson 1 - Rotary cutting

she says in the instructions to cut your pieces - lay them out and then pick them up and sew

Sorry for the fuzzy pic.  I don't know what happened.  I paper pieced this one, too. Lots of little pieces!

Barbara,

I'm doing a BOM from Stitchin' Heaven using reproduction fabrics. It matches the colours of the original quilt. I wanted to do the blue and white but it was sold out when I signed up.

For the red & white I'm using fabric I got for $2 a yard at the LQS. I had to buy eight yards of background fabric.

The Blue and white uses blue scraps and a background from Connecting Threads that was also very low cost.

Kris ,that sounds like fun, can'twait to see your blocks. I'm going to be doing the Civil War  quilt, here with Love of Quilting, they are doing this in their next  three issues with six blocks in each issue. I 'l not sure what fabric I'm going to use yet . My LQS is getting ready to have  a big clearance sale on her fabric and she promised to hold what Civil war fabric she has fo me. I also just purchased 4 years of fabric from one of the online shops who name eludes me at this time. Paid 15.00 for the 4 yards plus 4.95  for s&h...so I'm trying to build up period fabric...Guess its gonna be a busy winter and spring but it keeps me sain..Barbara

Thanks, Barbara.  I have been collecting blue fabrics for a very long time in anticipation of making a blue & white quilt.  I decided DJ would be a good quilt to use them up on.
