I did get a chance to view those quilt entries the other night. They are a great source of inspiration and I get many ideas for my blocks. I forget some of the best idesa, so I have started a little book of notes to self...I include quick notes of the design and a little sketch, enough to jog my memory...
I have seen this idea of a "bed scarf", but never knew what they were calling it. I think it is less intimidating to finish a smaller project, than to get overwhelmed with a bed size quilt. Crazy quilts, when they are heavily embelleshed, can be very heavy. The embellishments can also be delicate...
That sounds perfect! I had just been talking.....to myself.....that it would be fun to do a four season hanging. This will be a good starter for that thought. Maybe if this works well, we could add the other seasons during the year. FYI I use beading thread to add many of my "hard" embellishments...
I have loved crazy quilting for a long time. I learned to CQ from a book called "The Crazy Quilt Handbook" by Judith Montano. I have made 2 wall hangings from this book with fans in each corner and the embroidered spider web which I learned is a "must do" on each crazy quilt by tradition...

I just joined this group. I took a crazy quilt class at the Quiltfest in Jonesborough,TN, this summer and haven't done much with it. Maybe I'll be inspired to continue on! I think crazy quilts are so much fun!
