Lillie---sorry you are having so much snow!  The weather has been really strange this year.  So sweet of your husband to take care of things though.

Lillie:

I have to share this with you. It's so sweet.

My DH is such a wonderful person. This morning he went out to shovel the snow. He feed the birds. Made sure there was a path in the snow for the ducks to get under the bird feeder. Then went out on our back deck and cleared the snow off the hummingbird feeders cuz he knew I was worried about the hummers.

And the temps just keep on dropping.

Your husband is so sweet, Lillie.  As for your weather, well, Happy May Day, right?  I know you like snow, but it's really late in the year for what you're having, isn't it?  Hope all your spring blooms don't perish.

Good Morning Everyone,

Today is the day.   Laurie's appointment is at 10:30 in Gainesville.   This one is with an Endocrinologist so we'll see what she says about the nodes and what our plan will be from there.   She has had an abundance of peace so far I just pray that this continues.   I'll let you all know when we know.

Thanks for all the support about banquet.  It was a very delightful evening.   As you can imagine those things can get pretty sappy.   Well, this one would have fed the hummingbirds.   But I guess it couldn't be helped.  I had a bag of stuff for each kid with the stuff symbolizing things and I wrote each of them a card.   They gave me a picture frame with signatures and pictures of them.   And the senior officers gave their farewells and don't me how cool I was and I survived all of that (even keeley's speech).  But then ..... They came up with the little crystal piano.  No, I don't play the piano.  The deal is years ago there was a teacher at our school who was a teacher when I was there and became like a mentor to me.   Well, he always organized senior trip, grad bash, graduation everything for seniors, and he was diligent about it being perfect for the kids, especially graduation and baccaulaurate.  Well, one of the trips I helped chaperone he admired this little piano in a shop window, but wouldn't buy it.  So, I rounded up the kids and got them all to throw in a buck or two and we bought it.  The kids gave it to him and he was so touched.   He said it was the first time anyone had done anything to thank him.   A few months ago when we were talking about the yard sale one of the parents mention they had a whole house that needed to be clean out that the man had died and left it to her mom.  Well it turn out to be this guy.  I just mentioned the piano in passing.   They had gone through the house found the piano and it became my gift.   It reminded me of the lesson I learned from this man all those years ago.  "You do it for the kids."   Those words rang in my ears and that's when ..... Well you guess it.

Lillie,   Congrats on the snow,  boo hiss it waiting to come so late in the season.  Your poor plants.    It is so sweet that your Hubby went out and did all of that for the birds.    Do you all get a ton of humming birds?   I've always wanted to come out west and see them.

Diane,  I kinda of figure that the pieces would have to be bigger and even maybe odd shapes this time if you are going to make something like a purse.   Or would you cut the shape of the piece after you stitched it?

Well, I need to get off and enter a few grades their putting progress reports today and I still have a few grades to enter.

Robin,

What a touching story about the piano. How sweet that they passed it on to you.

We do not get very many hummers here. I think we are just on the edge of the fly zone. Every year, we get a few more. I think we are up to 10 or so. When we lived in No. New Mexico, I had 4 feeders and had to fill all of them twice a day. We had tons of hummers there. lol

This morning, the hummer feeders were frozen. DH went out and brought them in. Then, he started to play with them under the kitchen faucet to thaw the food. He had to be careful as they have a glass bowl, not plastic. What a sweet guy. I'm truly blessed to have him in my life.

Robin, that is so sweet about the piano.  I just know God had a hand in getting that little piano to you.  Don't you think so?  Congrats on such a lovely banquet.

Wow Robin--what a wonderful evening you had!  Apparently (as we all know) you are a dedicated, well liked teacher who deserves so much more.  And, the rewards of your work can never be measured.

About the purse, I would cut the muslin to the shape you want then stitch.  I don't know yet what I will end up doing but depending on the number of participants, I'll figure it out!

Good afternoon everyone,

We're on our way home from Gainesville.   The doctor was a very knowledgeable young lady.  She feels like 90 % certain that the lump in Laur's thyroid is non cancerous but we went ahead and did a biopsy today to rule it out completely.   She also referred Laur to and ear, nose and throat specialist to address the problems that started all of this.   We'll have the results in about a week.  She really did ok with the biopsy but is getting a little sore.

Thanks for all the prayers.   She even said while we were waiting on the doctor that she has been completely at peace throughout the whole process.

Have a great evening.

Robin

What a relief for both of you. Good that you had the biopsy done to rule out everything. I'm happy that the doctor was so positive about the outcome. I know you will all be happy to have this behind you.

Robin, it sounds so positive and that she had such peace about it is just wonderful.  The biopsy is out of the way, now just the wait for the results.  Almost over.  Almost behind you.  Will keep her in my prayers.

Good Morning Everyone,

I don't know about where you live but in Madison I'm beginning to think that we should be singing "It's raining it's pouring.....'   because that's what it has been doing for several days a week.

Laurie seems fine so I'm off to school to take care of the kiddies.   We'll see what mischief they got into yesterday, restore my room to it's proper arrangement and make plans for next week.   I'm not sure what to do about the yard sale tomorrow with the rain like it is.  I guess I'll just have to watch the weather and make a call closer to time.   I hate messing up people's weekends.

Anyway got to run.

It's Friday.

So cute Robin!!  I'm happy it's Friday too.   Today I am working on the RR blocks.  Both are very pretty.  Also ordering Chinese food.  Shrimp with veggies.  Yum!
