Lillie:I showed her what I have done with Diane's block and she was very complementary. So, I'm feeling very good about my contribution. I hope Diane feels the same way when she see's the picture.
I'm excited to see what you have done Lillie. It's nice for you to have a friend that does CQ. It's nice to have the support and friendship of someone that shares.

Lillie:I went to lunch with a dear friend of mine who does CQ-ing. I showed her what I have done with Diane's block and she was very complementary. So, I'm feeling very good about my contribution.
You're lucky to have a friend that does CQ. I'm sure we are going to be very impressed with your work on Diane's block.
By the way everyone. I was thinking it'd be a good idea if we all posted our block pics in Media, too. That way people who don't read our musings can comment on the pics there instead of getting that going in our block picture thread.
I have a procedure question.
When adding yarn either by couching method, or winding it through stitches, do you secure the yarn at the beginning and end? If yes, what method do you use to secure the yarn? I can find anything about it. Most I've seen is just laying the yarn on the fabric and go from there.
TY in advance for help on this subject.
Lillie, you secure the yarn at both beginning and end. You can do this either by knotting it or if that's bulky, you can run it under several stitches on the back side of the work. Sometimes I do this forward and come back again, just to be sure. It depends on the piece. For fine threads I sometimes take a couple of pin stitches where they won't show and then I loop through the back of them on the back. With yarns you can also sometimes split the thread to make a knot. There are lots of ways, but you do have to secure it.
Thanks for the yarn info Linny.

I think this is a good idea. Should we do it now?

I think Linny answered this great, and if I were to add anything it would be that a large eye tapestry needle works well for being able to draw the yarn through.
Stephanie:I think this is a good idea. Should we do it now?
Me too---I'll post mine now.
Diane,
I don't see it in media.
How do I get to media Steph?
