Linny t:I wonder if loosing Daisy had any play on Shelby convincing herself she was pregnant.
Goodness only knows what on earth prompted this. I'm glad I found out though. If she started to lose weight rapidly, I'd be thinking she had them somewhere and I missed it.
Thanks for the well wishes on the trip. The drive will be a great time to read through The Color Confidence book.
normajo1030:....he was my first boyfriend when I was 14 and he was 18 here in West Virginia. I moved to Ohio and got married raised 3 sons, etc. I never forgot, George,
Normajo, this is such a wonderful story. So glad that you and George were able to get together and I wish you many happy years.

Darlene:I think she needs to "get out of Dodge" and just having something to look forward to will be a great thing for her.
Darlene,
Oh my goodness! That's awesome that your mom would like to do this with you! I hope it all works out and that the two of you can go together.
Thank you for the description of the scrubbies. They sound like they can be quite handy, and I imagine perfect for teflon cookware and a number of things to clean without scratching.
Also thank you for the well wishes for the trip.
Hope you have a great day too.
Darlene:They are crocheted from strips of petticoat netting and then a circle of cotton worsted weight yarn to match size. I join the two layers together with matching cotton yarn. They can be washed with towels or in the dishwasher and last forever.
Can you post a picture, Darlene?

Linny, ask and you shall receive.
These are really cool Darlene. I was picturing that they were like net bath scrubbies . These are better!
How cool are these! They look just hand size. I was thinking like Stephanie. These are cool because they'll hold the soap while you scrub. Thanks for sharing this!
Darlene, your scrubbies are really cool. I tried making the ones with the netting and they were just too painful.
Life is like a quilt...bits & pieces, joy -and- sorrow, stitched with love
normajo1030: I haven't left a message since I first begin on here; but I couldn't help but laugh at all of Stephani's animal happenings. I have had cats and dogs all my life and am now down to just one mean, smart, cat; Sammy. ( I am not laughing at Otis.) My husband and I are retiered hes 77 and I am 73, but we are both young at heart. He had never had any animals till we married 7 1/2 years ago. I had a siames, Suzy then. To make a long story short....he was my first boyfriend when I was 14 and he was 18 here in West Virginia. I moved to Ohio and got married raised 3 sons, etc. I never forgot, George, I would dream about him when I wasn't even thinking about him. I hadn't seen him for 48 years and I found out his wife had died and my husband had died; so I contacted him and we dated back and forth from Wv. to Oh. for nine months and he asked me to marry him and move to Wv; so here I am. He has the sharpest mind and we have so much fun together! To get back to Sammy he bites me when he gets mad and if I raise my voice to him he gets more mad; but he is smart! George just loves him. I had told you about my new sewing room when I first posted.....well, I sewed so much with different movements, etc that I got a pinched tendon in my right rotator cuff and had to get a steriod shot in in it. It is feeling better, but not completely better. I told you I was making a "Wacky Web" quilt from Missouri Star Quilt Co. it is coming along fine...I have 16 blocks made (they are 12" or better) till I had to stop for a while. I took a picture and tried one time to post it, but it didn't work. I will try again now, but if it isn't here you will know why. Oh my, it worked!! It is just up on my design wall now.

This is a beautiful quilt

Thaks, Gini. I am enjoying making this quilt.....the only seams that need to match are the ones in the white fabric since spider webes are not really uniform.
George and I were talking about "God's providence" last night and we agreed He had something to do with out getting together after so many years. I always say "who knows if we would have been so happy if we had married when we were young". George likes to golf and I am fine with it; but I might have resented it when I was younger.

Thank you both for your comments about the scrubbies. They are hand size. I have made slightly smaller and some a little bigger but four strips of netting seems to be just right. No two are the same. I use scraps of netting and yarn to make them all unique. I tried doing some square or rectangular but they were more difficult for me so I stick to the round. Funny because I hated doing round crochet until I made these.
They were a challenge to make at first. It took me a few tries to perfect the process and sometimes I will get a remnant that is absolutely miserable to work with. My hands are calloused now and so most of the time I don't have problems but once in a while I buy something different or cut it slightly off grain and my hands are a mess. I need to do some every week to maintain my "conditioning" on my hands or it is like starting from scratch.
Mom, my eternal promoter, told someone recently when they asked if I would show them how to make a scrubbie that they were so hard to make and so rough on your hands that it was easier to buy them from me. Just got to love her dedication and she is right about them being hard to make but I wouldn't mind sharing with some of the ladies.
Today is hopefully a sew day. I have this must get done project which I am struggling with. I made some progress last night but really need to plug away on it so that I can get back to some fun stuff.
Have a great day all.
You know I didn't think about it, but it would be rough on the hands to crochet with netting, wouldn't it? I like your Mom's spirit. She's all for her girl!
Have a happy and productive sew day.

Mom is definitely supportive of me and I am thankful that we have developed the relationship we have now. We were not always close but have been able to become so with the years. It is such a blessing.
I did have a productive day but not working on the project I should hve been. Sad that I chose to clean up my sewing area and organize before working of a project. Then when I sat down to try to work on the must do project, I could not get into it. I finally decided to put it aside and do something fun. I pulled out one of my UFO fabric sets and did a baby quilt and had the blocks finished before dinner last night.
Because of all the changes in meds in the last couple months, my body is sttill out of sinc and some days are challenging. Yessterday was one of those days and I went to bed after dinner. Unfortunately, because I went to bed so early, I was up at 3:30 this morning. Good thing about that was that I finished the quilt this morning. I will post a picture in my galley and in the UFO media.
I think I need to take a small nap before getting dressed and starting anything else today. With any luck, I hope to have a fresh attitude to this must do project. I need to go out for groceries which will distract me but hopefully not too much.
Have a good day all. I will check in later.

Darlene, I had this happen with my Mom. When I was young we couldn't have been further appart. When she retired she and I became really close. I thank God for those days now that she's gone.
I'll pop over to your gallery and look at your UFO. I hope you get a resurgence of inspiration to finish that quilt so you don't have it looming over your sew days.
Yesterday afternooon I got a migraine at work and left early. It continued into the night and I had to watch Nate, too. It was a tough night, but he cheered me up a bunch. He is such a little light. Today I feel better, but still not great. Everything is stiff and I feel like I've been poisoned or something. I hate migraines. I don't get them often, but when they come they are terrible. Today I'll be drinking tons of water to wash those toxins out and I'll lay low and call it a sew day. It's overcast outside, so it's a good day to not do much.
We love you, Spud.
