Well guess what, My flowers are planted. I am so happy. I don't have any pic's. We are suppose to have showers tonight so I will take some pics tomorrow when they look more spruced up. It was hot today so transplanting from the pots to the ground may have been a shock. My fiance just got called to report to base tomorrow. Who know what will happen now. Figures doesn't it.

Well one more day and school will be out for summer... I'm so ready. Once I go and be with mom and dad for a few weeks, I will be functioning better here after.

Thea glad your hot tub is finally working. And with the pool soon, you will feel rejuvenated.

Barbara I hope they can find a different meds for you so your leg pains will be gone.

Oh, Barbara what time is dinner?? The shrimp nd scallops sound SO good, and I love cucumber salad. Of course, DH "can't ", (because he does NOT like)to eat ), any of those things. He says cucumber has an odd name and tastes "green". Celery "squeaks". ho hum

I thought you were baptised when Thea was there? How many times does that take place? For Christians, it is a symbol of joining the church (the body of Christ). Is it the same with your Church?

I am such a huge Duck Dynasty fan. You must watch the show a few time to get to know the Robertsons, then you WILL love them forever. Where else can you find a TV reality show where the family sits down to dinner together at the close of the show and has a prayer? I LOVE Jase, and Si is such a hoot. I have a t-shirt that says Faith, Family and Facial Hair. Love it. One of my fellow church members and another huge fan, has a pink camo ball cap. Oh, I want one!!

Thea, ,glad to hear you have been able to get some stuff done, I Have been doing the same thing. laundry is done ,, floors swept . kitchen cleaned . need to work on the bathroom then I'm done for awhile. Tonight I'm cooking dinner for the missionaries . we are having garlic shrimp and scallops ,with a fresh cucumber salad ,that I made up last evening so it will have absorbed all the flavor an be chilled ,and garlic bread, No desert ,with this dinner . after dinner I have an appointment with our Bishop for temple entrance to help with the baptism on Sat. so that will be interesting. I've been working on the pillow case for my fabric exchange and my son who has become a really big Duck Dynasty fan we are love it. To bad I'm not there now Thea if you got the hot tub going. it sure would be good on these aching legs. I'm gonna talk with my doctor cause they are back to hurting again since he but me back on the statins and I m not feel nearly well as I was feeling this time last month . so I'm thinking ,my body does not like these meds. Ok well I need to get back to work . so chat at y'all later.. Barbara

Glad to hear that retirement isn't so awful. ;)

Finally finished a top that had been a WIP for over a year, made a quick pieced back with the scraps and leftovers, bought a batting..... and then what do I do? Do I get it sandwiched and quilted like the responsible person I'm trying to be? Of course not! I started another project. Lol. I now have 3 finished tops and a QAYG about half-way done. I am determined to get those 4 quilts finished before I start anything else!! Hopefully before the end of the year also. Before my 2 block-of-the-month projects get added to the stack!

I really hate having a bunch of started projects ongoing like this. I need to manage my ongoing stuff better and not start so many new projects!

Thea, I wish I had a hot tub. I just might have to sneak up there and drop by teehee. I bet that was very nice. It should have felt good. And I bet that massage helped with the pain. I am glad you feel better. I keep you in my thoughts hope that there is something out there they can do for you. Definitely get back in that tub this afternoon. Think of me for just a minute HAHA.

YAY Today I get to go get my flowers so I can plant. FINALLLLLLLYYYYYY. I have also started a new quilt. It is really going to be pretty, this one I gravitated toward dark colors again. But it has some light ones in there too. So it will be nice. Once I get it sandwiched I have to make the decision to tie or not to tie. I will show pictures the closer I get to that process.

I still have 3 quilts I have to bind...you think I could just get that done, Plus I have to bind that Table runner I put pics up of. Oh well. Maybe I will get that done this week too LOL.

Okay - it is hump day for those who work! It is just Wednesday for those of us who don't! A great middle day to the week. We have a chance of rain here today! About 30% the weather man said the other day! I am not sure if I ever believe their forecasts anymore - sometimes they do come true though so if it is bad weather they are forecasting we should listen as they were right on about the tornadoes.... Anyway, it is overcast and gloomy and I was going to get in the HOT TUB today - Yes, I was thinking logically about what the problem could be and got DH in just the right mood to listen to me - And Yes!!! It worked! As the company - Hot Springs! they Listened but in the end could not help us! The store here that sells them and is supposed to service them has a waiting list of 6 - 8 weeks for service - well that will be well into August and summer will be coming to a close. I was truly upset with them. When the hot tub started having problems about 5 years ago - just as it went out of warranty - they seemed to get too busy to come over and fix it - I would call and call and call for about 3 weeks - then my life would go in a different direction - we did this for 4 years - and finally last August they made it over and fixed the heater - so we could use it - and really did a lousy job but what are you to do when they are the only one in the area and calls to Hot Springs which is the manufacturer does nothing... They want to sell them - and they are high dollar - but they don't want to keep them running once you have paid the piper... But!!!

Jay and I figured it out and we got it running last night - it took maybe 2 hours to heat up and is a toasty 100 degrees right now - I don't like it much hotter then that - my son likes it at 103 which is the hottest it will go but not me - I like it to feel warm...

Well, DH started watching a movie last night and to watch movies I have to be doing something so I got out the kit for the table runner to match the placemats/hot pads/napkin and got it from cutting out to the machine part of the binding done... Now the only kit of those I have left is the table cloth size quilt one - maybe later today when I don't ache as much. Took pain meds in the middle of the night so didn't wake up with level 10 pain but not far off -

I feel at a loss though - I did all this cleaning yesterday and now have nothing to do - the laundry is done - the floors are done - the kitchen is clean - Mom's bedroom is tidy - my bedroom is awesome - teehee - I even started my lists for the travel trailer and am checking them off as I put things out there for the trip - guess I could start hanging some clothes out there - no suitcases this trip - DH laughed about that one... teehee... so excited.

Well, guess I will look forward to whatever tidbits the group comes up with today to show the inspiration that June is bringing them... Peace On! teeheee

I have been retired now for 11 years and it is wonderful - I am lucky that I can be retired as I could not work now even if I wanted to - would just not work. when I first retired I was busy busy busy - I didn't know how to say No and everyone that knew me wanted me to help here or there - over time I learned how to say No as it became imperative that I did - it is fun though to do what I want when i can and not be tied down to a short vacation like DH still is - I can't wait till he can retire too!

Been up since 2 a.m. - woke hurting bad again and this time couldn't lay in my bed nor sit in my chair so decided to sew - I made a lunch bag - it was a kit that I have had for a while - laminate fabric - came out cute - I'll put it in the trailer and use it on our trips.

I then laid back down to get some rest but DM decided she was going to go beserk - she was screaming at me - not sure what she was saying but something to the effect that since I didn't seem to care that she was just going to throw herself down on the floor - her aide called and I said please come over and her psyche nurse will be here shortly. She at one point rolled her walker in from the front room to the kitchen - I asked what she was doing and she said trying something new - I gave her walker back to her and told her that she is supposed to use it - she is sleeping it off now - all night she had been up going through things in her room - not sure what she was looking for but felt that was her business and left her alone - There is a full moon in 7 days - DH thinks that is what causes her changes and mood swings - it seems like that they happen about once a month - but this ones seems different then the rest - she told me earlier that we didn't have to pay the high cost for bread as she had gone to the stadium and made some and that they would be dropping it off today... hallucination???

Oh well... the floors are done now - all steamed and clean - the kitchen is sparkling and as soon as the nurse is here and gone I will be taking a well needed nap... hopefully Mom will sleep for the rest of the day and night - I can hope right!

almost done with my spring cleaning and organizing - I keep looking at my small sewing room where everything has gotten stored since we gave Mom the two big room on the front of the house - that is my next project... lots of organizing to do there and just think of all the fabric that I will be reunited with... and all the things that I was going to make... Inspiration is calling!!!

Linda, I love those little wallets - and $3 is not much to pay for a pattern so I think I will be going over to check them out! That is a wonderful idea to keep things separate in your purse or bag... I am loving it - thank you so much for sharing this idea!

Thanks for sharing! I am happy to pay $3 for a pattern. So many of them are so expensive. I have a $13 pattern for a purse that I misplaced when I moved my sewing room and it's driving me CRAZY. I really wanted to make one of them for a friend, but I'm not going to pay another $13 when I know that pattern is around here somewhere!

Anyway, I like your wallets! :) I have a quilted Vera Bradley wallet that I love, but I know it's not going to last forever and I'm embarrassed at how much I paid for it! When this one dies, I know I'll want to design my own and this pattern might be a good starting place! Thanks for sharing.

That is awesome and I am sure yours will be just as awesome!! What kind of new machine did you get? Did not even think about naming my machine (s) but guess I better get on that. I got a new machine for my birthday and am finding that the more I learn about it the more I see that I do not know. Still technology is amazing. Can not wait to see your purse when it is done . I love crazy quilts. I have one that my grandmother made every stitch by hand and all silky bright fabric. It always reminds me of her and how much she loved hand work. Being wrapped in that quilt is like being wrapped in her love.

I love these wallets!! Picture #3 is my wallet that I've been using for several years. It fits all my state, medical id cards, all my credit cards, my Buckeye card, library card, and I can fold up cash and put in there too. It has a pretty large capacity. When it gets dirty, just take everything out and throw it in the laundry.

The Eyore wallet in picture #2 is a birthday gift I made for my best friend. She loves Eyore. And she loves her wallet with Eyore centered on the flap. It matches her Eyore purse!

This is another breaking copyright law if I were to copy the directions. It is very clearly stated on the back of the pattern. If you google Valori Wells, you will find the pattern. I only paid $3.00 for it. This is a pattern I have used extensively for last minute gifts. Also a good way to use up scraps. I think it takes all of 15 minutes to make one wallet. I've given them to the mail-lady carrier, my cleaning lady, the 2 girls that work for my friend and are always helping to take me places. I've given them to my daughters-in-law and my massage therapist. They love them. You no longer have to carry the heavy wallets. These wallets fit nicely into a pocket.
