Love your colors, they make a beautiful quilt. How are you quilting it? I've been thinking how to quilt mine whent I get to that point and don't have a clue at this time!

I am using a simple flower in the center and a little scroll work around the flower. I haven't decided how to quilt the borders yet. Since my machine is in the shop it will be a while till I get to that and I may change my mind several times by then. My quilt is small, 34" x 46" with the border I am quilting it on my machine, not the big quilting frame. My blocks are 8" square. I used some 4" square charms that I had on hand, so it came out smaller than the Small Dashing Stars in the book.
I am putting a picture in of a block with the quilting lines drawn in. (Of course I had them drawn on a block that didn't match points in the center). I decided it was close enough and didn't go back and fix it.

Phyllis and Martha your stars are beautiful. I really would like to make these.
jean we got this pattern from the quiltin quickly book done with fons and porter ,you might check and see if they still have copies avaiable to sell ,if not if you go to the crftsy web site and sign up for Quilting Quicklyclass by JennyDoan I think it is that class . i think this class has been marked down . barbara
Phyllis and Martha - your quilts are looking mav vel lous. I love them! I have all my scrappy red and green star blocks done but that is where I got stalled with Mom issues and other things that need to get done - I am hoping to take it with me to Branson and work on it there. I have to get RR and Mailbox Feb gifts done - am so far behind... one of these days I won't be behind and I'll be amazed. Great job!

Jean - if you go to the beginning of this thread you will see where we started this - It is one of our projects for Christmas all year long that started from a new magazine that came out from Fons and Porter showcasing Missouri Star Quilt Company - this magazine is called Quilting Quickly. You can check your local stores for it - they still I think have some in our local grocery store which sells quilting magazines. I do believe that if not that it is a very easy quilt to figure out. Very easy and they have a tutorial on it at MSQC - so jump in and join us!
Hi,
I'm new here and was reading some of the past posts and was wondering what patter everyone is talking about making together and where can I find the pattern. I was also wondering which issue of Quilting Quickly everyone is talking about as I pick up that magazine often.
Thanks for helping a newbie,
Donna

Hi Donna and welcome. Quilting Quickly was a new magazine that came out for the new year. It is a Fons and Porter production featuring the Missouri Quilt Company quilts. We are doing one of the quilts from that magazine - discussing it in another thread - just look at the name of the other threads and you will find it. We are helping each other but can not post the instructions as it would be a copyright issue - so you have to buy the magazine or just join the discussion. There have been several members who are well on their way to completing theirs. The magazine has several patterns that are very nice and I plan to make a couple. I have my stars completed for my quilt but haven't sashed and cornerstoned them - I need to clone myself right now to finish all the projects I have going.
Martha, I love your quilt!
Hi Thea,
Thank you for the info. I looked for the magazine at the quilt shops and JoAnn's near me and couldn't find the magazine so I got the online version, so of course the next time I go to JoAnn's they have the magazine go figure.

Donna, I am glad you were able to get one. I think the overwhelming popularity of the magazine made it go very quickly. I think they did a second running of it. I am so happy that you found one it is a good magazine and has lots of fun quilts in it. I bought the material to do the kids one for my Grand son - one of my many projects that has to get done.
