Thea I'm so glad you're on the mend. I'm especially glad nothing broke when you fell. I think you have an amazing amount of willpower and optimism put together. I can read your will to push through, your desire to help people get out of their funk. And to top it all your wit makes me smile. So I hope you will be able to go spend time with your son and DIL when this baby will be born. I'm praying that you will find relief from the pain soon. I don't think you have too many pain free days but I hope for many with little pain or even better no pain!
My DMIL had RA and suffered greatly. She tried to get hip and knee replacement but no doctor would do it because her hart was not strong enough. I guess after 16 pregnancies and raising 15children one was adopted, her heart had too much of a workout. Being on a farm also didn't give her too much time to rest either.

Okay Melodie - my brain is not working today and I don't feel like looking it up - what is EPP - I know the last two P's are Paper piecing but for the life of my old and ancient brain I can not figure out what the E is for...
I am not doing good today. I am in good spirits but don't ask me to get out of my chair and tell my fur babies I am sorry but they can't climb on me today... About 2" up on my lower back the bruise finally showed up where I hit the vertebrae and that area is mightily swollen - I guess all the sewing I did yesterday made it extremely mad as it swelled up around that stupid and yes I am calling my sciatica nerve stupid as it just isn't getting the picture that it is to stop hurting... but anyway - today the pain down my left leg is excruciating... I had DH rub my instant refreshing gel into the spot and then - I don't use these very often - but I did this time - I have put one of my lidocaine patches on the area and hoping that they start working soon... I can feel the coldness from the metholatum in the gel and hoping that soon the lidocaine gets in there and tells that nerve to behave itself.
Last night went to bed early - before 2 a.m. was exhausted... I was sleeping so peacefully till 4 a.m. when my DH's favorite fur baby Blue got near DH's head... I thought he picked him up and threw him in my direction but he says when he moved his hands that Blue took off at me - I got scratched on my forehead and instantly I get that burning sensation - so DH had to get up and get the stuff I have to put on scratches so they don't get infected - we have to do this immediately - yep - I get cat scratch fever - so why do I have fur babies - because I am stubborn beyond belief and love them... so anyway... I finally fell back asleep and was sleeping oh so peacefully and Christine called... it was okay - I really did need out of that bed - so talked with her and got up - and oh the pain set in - not sure if it was the jerk I did to body when Blue ran across my head or just the aggravation from the back injury from falling...
But today has been in my chair - I talked with Barbara and felt bad as I knew I was short with my answers when I tried to help her with the instructions for the pillowcase but it was so hard to even think... and Mom - oh loving wonderful Mom had to need me for this and need me for that - I finally told Mom she had to wait for Jay for anything else... the peanut butter hasn't moved since she put it back in the cupboard yesterday but she couldn't see it unless I pointed at it... why oh why...
I have too many things to do so the sciatica better start behaving soon - the back is getting really cold at the moment but the pain down my leg is still there so we are doing something but not enough yet... oh did I tell you I also have ice on the back... yep ... have to freeze that sciatica so it behaves...
Well, just wanted to let you all know that I am here - not doing great but here - I will have pictures tomorrow or the next day of some scrap sacks that I made yesterday - thought it was something that would make a good SS gift or a gift for Mail box presents - or a gift for a quilter that is special to you... they went together nicely. I was going to make a basket today - but alas although I have all the stuff - I can't sew laying on my side...teehee.. maybe DH could rig something up for me...teehee... anyway - I'll try and do that tomorrow - it is something that you can do with those jelly rolls...
Thea, I think you need to behave for a day or so. That way your sciatica will loosen up and hopefully the pain subside. Do massages help relax the nerves and muscles? I'm glad Jay is taking such good care of you and still respecting your need for independence and creativity. I hope you sleep well tonight.
thea dear , you could never be to short with me, I did't really even notice. I know you were having a really bad day. I wish I could take some of your pain for a day and give you some comfort . Just take it easy and mend I want you to be well for Branson.so we can have some fun. Barbara

Oh my - where was my brain - yes I did know that the E was English - teehee - brain cramp complete...
I was up very late last night and up very early this morning... oh my am I ever again going to sleep for 8 hours - doesn't seem so - but I feel better today then I did yesterday - my stomach yesterday when I got up was all in knots - just horrific and my throat was raw - I kept myself warm all day and didn't try to over do - so today here shortly will get my breakfast and then will find some warm clothes to wear - and off to the hospital I will go. I am only going to stay a couple hours if that - just enough to let her know that she is truly loved and that she needs to work hard to get better...I am hopeful that she will get better but at the same time ready for the worse. I'll know more when I see her today what is happening. Day 3 with a rod in her leg to make it stronger...
I am taking my hand embroidery with me as it is very hard for me to sit in those chairs - they are not conducive to visitors - hard chairs - I washed Mom's pillow and might take it in with me to see if she wants it. Not sure - hate to lose it there if they move her... Now to find something to put in my stomach... thinking just some toast this morning... my pain meds have me ready to start the day!
I am moving very slowly today - Mom is doing better and I don't have to be there all the time - I am going to try very hard to stop in each day and see her but am hoping that I can end up just visiting her a few times during the week - It was nice to have her here as she was in the house but not under my feet - but I could just go in and see her - I truly am a house person and hate going out - but am going to try very hard to get over there and see her as much as possible. We have many many differences but she is my Mom and I won't want a guilty conscience when she leaves us that I didn't visit her and be with her enough after she is gone.
that being said - today she might not see me - I have been up for 6 hours now and not moved much out of my chair - it is hard today - am exhausted from my body struggling to fight the arthritis that is in full swing. What little energy I have right now is going to trying to keep my house half way clean - floors really need a good cleaning - wash needs doing - and dinner needs to be made for DH who has been a dear these last few days and helping me a great deal - he takes good directions...
I truly need a day where I just veg - after I get Kristie's border on - deadline for it this Friday - and as soon as the last things that I ordered come in - I need to get those 2 February mail box gifts out...
I know the Lord is telling me to relax and not worry - I feel his wonderful warmth holding me close. Today is also a sad day as it is hitting me that my Momma Hilda is gone... No more will I hear that raspy voice on the other end of the phone nor get those emails asking me what I am doing!!! I don't want to go tot he NH to visit Mom and start crying or have her see my red eyes... so maybe she will have to miss me today maybe she won't notice that I didn't stop by...
I think I will stay home today - conscience will bother me - but I'll get caught up here - as I can do the things I can and tomorrow bright and early go over and see her and see how she is doing with the Pt people.
then again - later this afternoon or early evening I might be feeling well enough to get up and go see her - you never know!
Yay! After several phone calls and a few arguments between 3 companies I have FINALLY been able to set up an install for Satellite High Speed internet!!!! They will be here on 21st to get everything hooked up. I guess about 6 weeks it finally became available in my area...I am so excited. Now when he is gone we will be able to do video chats! Then, after we had an install appointment husband says since the computer is so old maybe we should buy a new one; so i ordered one. So, on the 19th I get a new pc and the 21st high speed! I know the first thing that I'm going to do is go to QNN and watch some video's LOL Then it will be craftsy.

Erin, I am so happy for you! I have ordered some classes from Craftsy and maybe today while I am laying here sick in bed I might just turn one on... I can listen and see what I need to do...
Just think you get taht satellite high speed and you can skype with us... that will be real fun!
