We will have a tutorial for each project but I don't want the tutorials to get lost. Members tend to go to the last post in a thread instead of starting at the beginning... so with that in mind. We will have tutorials and then a thread where discussion about that thread will take place.
You will be able to discuss the project and ask questions on these threads.

Melody, I started years ago making pillowcases to go with my quilts. I sometimes take all the scraps that I have left and make them into a crazy looking pillowcase - I should do a tutorial of one of them next time I make one as I make them reversible - and you are to wash them each time you wash the quilt so that they age the same - that way if anything ever happens to the quilt and you need to repair it you have the fabric to do it that will match the quilt.
All quilts that I give away have pillowcases that go with them - just for storage if nothing else.
I like to use french seams on the final seam of the pillowcase. I keeps the edges from fraying and looks professionally finished.

Nana - if you have some pictures of when you do french seams I am sure the ladies would like to see them - When I make the next one, I might do that to them but this one did the overlock stitch to show that we have it on our sewing machines for those who don't have sergers - but I like the french seam too - it always makes it look just a little fancier to me.
Spent the week-end with my sister for a sew in. Showed her the tutorial for the pillowcases and she went to town. She made 2 birthday ones, 2 Valentine ones, working on Christmas ones. The directions were great. Sorry that I didn't bring my camera. Hope to make some pillowcases for the grands for Valentine's this week.
Jean - you have no idea how that makes me smile - thank you! lifted my spirits today! Great going by your sister. They are easy and make great gifts for the kids and grands - they love them and simple things make it easy for us in between the tough things we do.
I was just monogramming a set of store bought pillowcases for my son and his wife. The grand daughter walks in and says hey, I need some of those! So, I am going to go make her a pillow case and embroider something on it. I'll post pics in a little while.

Awesome Erin, I made a lot of embroidered pillowcses when I first got my embroidery machine - I still have a few here - of course, my snowmen ones stayed...teehee... can't wait to see your pictures!!!
Here is my first pillow case. It was SO easy and it is probably the first time one of my "first tries" has came out right! The picture is side ways...I took it with the cupcakes up top...oh well!

Thanks Bonita. She thinks Mamaw can make anything and her dad can fix anything! She told her preschool teacher that she was going to have me make pretty curtains for the class room because the ones there are ugly..LOL They are just the roll-up shades, she is too funny.
