I decided to add snowball corners to my plain blocks in the nine patch mystery, cut from the same print that will be in the outer border.  here is a picture showing how it looks so far.  Twelve more snowball blocks and I can start to assemble the quilt top.

Lovely change to the instructions! May just have to make another scrappy quilt to get to try this layout!!
