Kris,

Really do like your borders!  I'm partial to 'wonkiness' of any kind, but it really looks good on this quilt.  Love the border quilting you did on the right-hand end vertical border. Kool!  Someday when I grow up and become a real quilter I have got to try to do FMQ.  The back is marvelous.

So glad you get to keep your 'quilter's card' for another year!!

Kris,

Love your quilt and the back fits it so nicely.  I like the uneven piano key border. It keeps my eye moving around the quilt.  Way to go.

Kris~ I really like the border and  the quilting looks good to me. I still have mine layered and basted but not quilted yet. I am in LOVE with the back! The quilt tops I've made for my sons and my DIL's have made me want to do something with the backing that makes them reversible- this is a great idea!

Thanks for the kind words everyone.

Max,

FMQ is scary but fun when you get into it. I usually just wing it. Sometimes the quilt tells me right away what to do but I have a few that remain stubbornly silent.

Kris:
happy to say I finished something

Beautiful job Kris, I love both front and the back and the fact that you did the quilting. Wish I could say the same. For me it's much more fun to make the tops and set it aside for later while I start something else. I guess I just need to make myself sit down and quilt.

Thanks Judy E.

I had to finish something. I have a ton of started projects and several tops waiting to be quilted.

I was hoping to get this one done over the weekend, but it just wasn't meant to be.   I did the all the 9-patches squared up, and the long strips are stitched up.  I just didn't have the gumption to finish it off.

I did finish two other tops, though.  I'll have to get the pix & post them to the Quilt thread.  And I made more progress on the July scrappy.  I decided that I didnt' like my blocks, so I cut them in fourths.  Then I started my sashing (modified windows pattern).  One way will be marbled green & I haven't decided on the other way yet.  But I misjudged the sheer amount of blocks and didn't cut enough strips.  I'll have to so some more so I can get this one finished up as well.  Then I'll post pix before I do the first border--no clue on that part yet.

Kris:
I finished my top a couple weeks ago and got it quilted today. I used an all over meander and each border is quilted differently.

Kris, congratulations on finishing your June Scrappy!  It look GREAT!!!  I too especially like your borders and the quilting on the right side (in the pic).  I never thought of using a fat quarter bundle for the back...great idea...
