Mimi:How about the blues, purples and teals? Bonnie seemed to use colors that touch each other on the color wheel. Have you tried pink, orange and yellow? Maybe a magenta? Pink might make your constant shine. Although a trip to the LQS is always fun
Good suggestions. I did try pinks but don't have much of those. At least not in the shades I'd need. Most of my pinks tend toward salmon shades. My problem is that my fabric stash is so inconsistent, not much in the same families/collection. Especially my greens, they mostly lean toward avacado shades. Ugh, I really need a brand new stash!
Quilt shop tomorrow with the blues/purples to get the third color. It may be greens, it may be in the pink family, who knows what I'll come home with.
In the beautiful Pacific Northwest!
It's me again...... I pulled more fabrics off the shelf. You should see my room, which is spilling over to the living room with piles of possibles and rejects. I really should just make a decision and some agonizing over this!
OK, opinions needed. I may just go with one of these and not go shopping tomorrow.
Option 1
Option 2
Option 3
And, finally (I hope), option 4
dardar:Got my squares done. Here they are. I used greys and white.
WTG Dardar. I like the bicycle fabric and your selections too. I really like that green leaf print.
I like option three because the oranges and pinks really pop next to the blue and purple. I'm so intimidated to do this MQ! But, I have been eyeing my stash and may just get started on it tomorrow. I too was thinking of going with bright pink instead of purple. Good luck!
Jen
Judy,
I like one, three, two then four.
Pretty fabrics you have there.
Kris: Judy, I like one, three, two then four. Pretty fabrics you have there.
Kris, one is the original set that you preferred before. You're consistent. Thank you. Four is also my last choice. There is one slight problem with option one. I can't find one of the fabrics, the bright floral. It's here someplace. Drives me nuts when that happens. I tend to get distracted and whatever happens to be in my hand wanders with me and gets left in some weird places.
Judy T-Bellingham: OK, opinions needed. Option 1 Option 3
OK, opinions needed.
Judy T- I like 1 best, then 3. I like the contrast of the lime green or pink/oranges. Hope you find the fabric you were looking for.
Quilting with 3 dogs in Massachusetts
Finally got my 4-patches partly done today. Have about 50 to finish and iron.
This is a close-up to show the WOW I am using in place of the black and white prints. My colors are much lighter than everyone else but I am happy with how these turned out. Am anxiously waiting to see what Bonnie's next steps are.
Marsha - Western New York
I like it Marsha. Pretty blocks.
Well, I've decided that I'm in. Here are the fabrics for the first step.
I had to purchase the black/white fabric because I did not have enough in my stash. I'm just finishing up sewing the strips so I can cut them up for the 4-patches. I hope to get most of it done tomorrow and Wednesday. Everyone's is looking so nice so far!
Very nice collection of B/W fabrics Jennifer!
They look great Marsha, nice contrast!
Judy T-Bellingham:OK, opinions needed.
I like one and three equally. They both have a pop color.
Marsha-SM: My colors are much lighter
These are a perfect tone for lighter colors. Nice work Marsha. I can't wait either.
Jennifer:Well, I've decided that I'm in.
We're all glad you decided to join us Jen. The white with black fabrics are great. I used the middle one in my 4 patches too.
