Sheila
Your quilt is gorgeous. I love the daisy quilting in the border. And I absolutely love anything with purple.

Sheila--beautiful quilt! Love your daisy border.
I thought about putting sashing around my blocks but it just seemed to vanish in the scraps. Your bold purple works perfectly!

Sheila, beautiful quilt.
Nice job with the quilting. Love it, love it, love it.

Sheila:Here is my scrappy; I call it purple wildflowers...
Looks great Sheila. Reminds me of Bonnie Hunter's crumb quilts.
Jean:Ok I am finally finished putting all the squares togehter. It's not as bad as thought it was going to be. Now my question is borders. I'm thinking maybe a light green thin and then a wide burgandy (sp). But I sure am open to suggestions.
Jean,
I like what you have so far. I like your idea for borders.
So here are 2 choices for borders, the blue makes it bright ( from Mizpat) and the black calms it down (Gwen and Nana). I'm not sure which way I want it to be.
I like them both
Ginny, colorwise, I like them both about the same. The blue is more playful (are those fish?) and the black more serious... the pattern of the quilt is pretty playful so i'd go with the blue.

I like the blue border best!
I like the blue. very nice
They are both nice, but I like the black best. It kind of tones down the scrappy-ness of the blocks. But I may not be the best judge because I'm really struggling with mine--too scrappy for me. Not sure what I'll do with it once I'm finished.

Definitely the blue, Ginny. It makes the quilt come alive and brings out the brights and blues in the quilt.
Ginny L,
LOVE the blue. It makes your quilt really pop!
Ginny
I like them both too. The black tends to pop the blacks and darks while the blue really pops the blues. Either one would be great.
Thanks for all the advice! I think I'll go with the blue, yes those are fish. Everyone has a sailing theme for borders so far, so me too : ). maybe it can be my beach quilt.
Ginny: I love that you played with a black border...very brave I think. I do agree though that the blue suits the quilt better. Now I know that if I make a dramatic quilt I use black for a stunning finish. Looking forward to seeing the finished results.
