Tami, I like the first picture. Really neat pattern with the scraps.
I like what you're doing with your strips.
Here;s another border problem for the July scrappy. I'm looking at the dark mottled green which would have to finish at 3 1/2" with what I have or the Wildflower with the light green in the corners. Hubby and son vote for the mottled green but I'm still undecided. Would be able to do a 6" border with the wildflower, which I thought may look good. So ladies...............I need input. What should I do?
Penny, I like the dark green. I think the wild flower is too busy.
Miss Penny, I vote with your men on this one. You could always keep light green or more of the same scrappy in the corners. :o)

Dark green for me too Penny.
Thanks for responding Donna, Debbie-do and Kris. Dark green is shall be. Might get a little time to cut the strips today. I have enjoyed this project though I like the bigger pieces and if I had known I probably would at least had stayed within the same color range. But it's different and I like it alot. Hope to go back and do the June scrappy now.
I like dark green best too Penny. I really like your quilt, it looks old fashioned...or maybe earthy. It's early and mind not functioning yet. :)
I am almost finished with another 9P for my son and his bride. They are getting married in Sept. I mulled around on what to make and decided that I know I can make this, it is quick and easy so I went for it. It's black, white and a touch of red (their wedding colors). I only used 8 fabrics so it's a controlled scrappy for sure but still coming together nicely. I will be making shams to go with it as well. The top will be done today and hopefully the shams too.
It's raining and thundering hard here this morning...scares me because the last 3 times storms have come through here we've lost electric for at least 12 hours. Twice it was for 3 or more days! Praying it just rains and moves on...
Piece, Love, Quilt
ya I am for the green too.
Hope the weather is doing better for you Erin, and what a nice touch, having a quilt in their wedding colors.
I am seriously thinking about undoing the first panel of my july quilt top, and then cutting 4" rows in it , then sewing right back together, then go back to what I was doing before but be able to rotate it more freely. I just really dont like the yellow blob that is occuring in the bottom portion. And of course I am hoping my machine is okay and was just tired yesterday. It was starting to act up yesterday when I was working on some other squares. cross your fingers....
Going to be really really hot here today so a bunch of us are going out to the swimming hole in the foothills, so dont know how much I will get done today...

I like the wildflower. It reminds me of stepping stones in a flower garden. Beautiful quilt.
