An accidental version of the Nine-Patch Heart

This is my accidental block. I read the McCall's instructions that said it was to be a 7 1/2" block and then drafted a 6" version which I repeated to make 4 blocks. I wish I had taken more notice of Melody's note on her 12" block before I had started!

I drew this block in EQ7 because I couldn't get the pattern to print out the right size from the internet. I did the bees with PP and the four patch on point with rotary cutting. It turned out to be just under 12 1/2" unfinished.

here is the bees and fields block... this one was more difficult to me than the snow churn block... thank god for seam rippers... but my fabric is more delicate than i thought and the old seam line show in one of the 4 patch blocks...

now to read about pp so i can try the 3rd block...

This is the block that gave me the most trouble. First the paper piecing papers were just a little bigger than they were supposed to be and then I forgot to add the 1/4 inch seam allowances for the fields part. I had 2 big blocks and 2 little blocks. Finally got it right though.
