Hey y'all! I've been M.I.A. for realsies! My family visited, I got more hours at work, my computer is on the fritz, we got another dog! Life has been full lately. My lovely friend told me a few months ago that a distant to-be relative of hers lost their house in a fire, luckily everyone survived. I felt so terrible and my second thought after a short prayer was, I need to make them a quilt. I had a plan, bought a ton of fabric, couldn't make up my mind, etc etc. And then I realized that I pretty much had a quilt ready to go with the BOM on QCA! Therefore in order to make it the size I wanted I went to quilter's cache and picked my own blocks and did nothing but make them for two weeks straight (after work and chores of course). Then I decided to down size to a lap quilt and now have a ton of extra blocks, looks like I'll have to make another lap quilt. Obviously I change my mind a lot!! Anyways, here it is so far. I found the layout on Pinterest. Since I have never machine quilted I have been experimenting with different designs on each block. It's really hard!!! Tons of my curves have zig zags in them and my stippling isn't random enough for me.. haha. We are our toughest critics, right?
Well, I love visiting the site every so often to see what everyone's been doing and can't wait to see the final results. I'll be sure to upload a pic of the finished project, hopefully it'll be soon.
