Block of the Month Quilting Bee

Block of the Month Group Host: Melody Parsons

Guidelines: Members of the group will be working on their own quilt. The January block patterns will be selected by Melody. After that, other members may volunteer to select two more patterns. The week before the 1st of the month a member will select 2 patterns for the group to work on that month. One block will be easier for those who haven't been quilting for long, and the second block will be more challenging.

There are several Internet locations that provide free block patterns as well as sizes. Patterns Galore as well as Pattern Cache are just two. If one block turns out to be more of a challenge than you want at that time don't do it or save it until later. Remember, this is your project. Each block will be a 12" finished block. If you start in Jan. by the end of the year you could have as many as 24 12" block to do with as you wish. Fabric is your choice. I would not recommend flannel or Homespun. 100% cotton is recommended. Your quilt may be themed, color coordinated or scrappy. It is yours so choose what you want.

Etiquette: this group is to quilt together in a happy friendly manner supporting one another. There will be no correcting, critiqueing or adverse comments on color, fabric selection or workmanship. This group is open to anyone anytime. There are no cut off dates, deadlines, or mailby dates. Each person works at their own pace.

Have a Good Time and LET'S GET QUILTING!
