This is a picture of the top left ¼ of the Bargello quilt
from the pattern Sweet Dreams Bargello by Becky Botello. I am showing one
column past the center. You will need to imagine the design mirrored to the
right and to the bottom. You can see the full pattern here http://www.etsy.com/listing/61099698/sweet-dreams-bargello-quilt-top-e
What do you think? It is soft and dreamy, like I had hoped, but perhaps it is
too matchy and blendy??? This is my first batik Bargello and I don’t feel like
I am using the textures and scales to good advantage. Since this pattern is
symmetrical and uses 24 different fabrics I can get 24 different variations
from the same strip set. I am calling this variation 24 because I started with
fabric #24 in the upper left hand corner. Then I rolled all my tube slices to
the correct location specified in the pattern. Next variation I will start with fabric
#23 in the left hand corner and roll all the tube slices to the correct
location. This way I can see all 24 variations and pick my favorite before I
pick my seams open and open the tube.
Would you like to see some of the other variations? If so,
which one do you want to see? It may take me a few days to get them all pinned
up and photographed.
Happy quilting.
