Michelle, you will have a wonderful time Mary and Sara are great hosts, the lodge is beautiful and the company couldn't be better. I was hoping I would make it this year, but our life has gotten too complicated to swing it this year.

Thank you Gini, I am just wanting to see what others are doing in this group. I have been on a few other groups, this coming week going to the Quilt retreat in the Smokies. Looking forward to the new group of friends. Wanting to see what else is out there on this website.

Thanks to everyone for the lovely comments. I am not following the original # of order. I did not fing that post until yesterday. So I haven't done 23 only 8 or 9 and half of those are completed. Yes I do have some beautiful flowers but like me there is no organization to them! LOL

Melody, you are moving along quickly with your blocks. I love the batik colors. Aren't batiks great? They add that variety of color. If the flowers in your yard look like this then you have a beautiful yard. :-D

Gini, I thought "fudging" was just adding your personal touch to a standard pattern. We all have to add a little "personality" to each block. How boring if they were all identical to each other. LOL Great tip for people who need to learn its okay to change it up. ;-)

i should have taken a picture of my ends, but i usually leave a generous 1/2 inch on the edge of the pieces i will be tucking under. it's nice to have a bit extra when you mess up like i just did on this block. i mis-measured something, most likely where the stem ended. if i had curved it a bit to the left it probably would have fit just fine. the good thing, it is applique and can be fixed or fudged.

FANTASY FLOWER - BLOCK 5 - DAISY

don't panic, you aren't behind, this block isn't due until august.

i don't have this block finished yet, but i wanted to show you again, how i used the lining for the flower as a template for placing the leaves. this works really well, if you pay attention. i think i can fudge and if i can't i will add a leaf. i forgot about the end of the stem on the upper right. how i could not see a stem end sticking out i have no idea, but there it is. if i tilt the flower just a bit different from the original lay out, i think it will work.

see the faint white line on the bottom of the stem to the upper right, just above the white petal? that's where the white petal should have ended. i left the ends of my stems about a half inch beyond the drawn line instead of a 1/4 inch so i have a bit of fudge room.
