I cut a heart pattern from paper and traced onto fabric, cut adding 1/4" seam allowance and followed the tutorial on YouTube. I had sore fingers but REALLY like sewing this way

looking good melody, i'm glad you are enjoying it.  are you tense and holding your needle and fabric too tight?   your fingers shouldn't be that sore.

I was really concentrating on making the stitches small and kept pricking my fingers with the needle!  I think it was just me trying too hard.
