One of my quilting groups is making a consolidated quilt for a member that is struggling. We tend to pull together to make the lovely lady a quilt so she can wrap herself in hugs when she is feeling down. The only requirement for this one is that it is all purple or neutrals. If we had to add another color, it should be sage green.
This is my contribution to the quilt. I've been wanting to make a string square to see what it would look like. But I thought it was just too blah when I got done, so I decided to applique a heart on top of it. I had to use fray-check on the edges because the fabric was pulling so easily. That actually made it a little easier to needle turn the edges. I like the way it turned out, except that I, apparently, cannot cut hearts that look right.
Thoughts, comments, criticisms, suggestions for the next one?
