Me too, but rarely do I find perfect fabrics for perfect places. I guess I need some lessons in choosing fabrics.

Jacy, us quilters are funny about collecting the smallest piece of fabric. When I went on retreat this past weekend I went "dumpster diving" after almost everyone was gone. There was a gal in one corner who worked on several projects while there and she through away very large scraps. I was in heaven!  I collected an entire grocery bag stuffed full of scraps that ranged from 1" by 1" to 8" by 6". She even left a strip of batting and fabric 8" by 3 yds!  She's been a sewer for years but only quilting for a year. I love quilters like this. Her fabrics were things I'd never buy so it was a real treasure. LOL

Maggie, you need to come shopping in my studio garbage cans. You'll think you've died and gone to heaven.  :  )

This sounds very familiar! I have added to my scrap collection the very same way. When I get together with my quilting friends now they just make a pile of their discards next to the cutting mat for me, I don't even have to look through the trash. Other people's scraps do add variety to your own scraps.

there's plenty for both of you, but you'll need to flip for who gets the real bed and who gets the blow-up  bed.

LOL.

One of the quilt shops we visit has a large scrap basket and we often find very large pieces in it. She usually sells scrap bags but I think she was tired last time she told us we could have all for free. OH yeah. My scrap bag is becoming legitimate stash.
