Barbara:

I want to thank everyone for all your kind words and encouragement, It really helps . I have done hand piecing for awhile but this needle turn is harder then it looks ,but I'm determined to learn it ,SO my first few flowers well probably be alittle ruff, but I do expect this .. Can't wait to meet Gini at the VB retreat and actually see the secrets  being done ,.. Barbara

That's the spirit Barbara! It does get easier as you go. But it's something you have to do all the time. I notice if I stop for a few days and come back to it, my first side is a bit lumpy. I usually remove those stitches and start over again. I'm telling you one thing is for sure-NEEDLES make all the difference in the world. Find the needle that works best for you and NEVER change that type/brand/size.  lol

My first attempt at needle turn had me in tears. It took hours and hours of practice and it's still not perfect. I actually found Gini's info to be the most helpful.

Lillie, thank you for your kind words ,I do  have good needles and just ordered some new ones that I got yesterday from Jean Lyle collection ,I have been hearing really good things about these needles . I do like using the straw needles as it gives me better control , , I'm looking so foward to meeting Gini At VB retreat and know I will gain some much needed Knowledge on doing this .and I have been spolied by doing my applique by machine. LOL  Barbara

I think your block is beautiful.  You are doing a great job with your applique.  And it does get easier.

Wow Kathie, you're rolling right along. Love the different purples you've used on this block.

Yes 1Lori. I enlarged the pattern to make an eight inch block. Liked the bigger pieces.
