I have done hand piecing for awhile but this needle turn is harder then it looks ,but I'm determined to learn it ,SO my first few flowers well probably be alittle ruff, but I do expect this .. That's the spirit Barbara! It does get easier as you go. But it's something you have to do all the time. I notice if I stop for a few days and come back to it, my first side is a bit lumpy. I usually remove those stitches and start over again. I'm telling you one thing is for sure-NEEDLES make all the difference in the world. Find the needle that works best for you and NEVER change that type/brand/size. lol
My first attempt at needle turn had me in tears. It took hours and hours of practice and it's still not perfect. I actually found Gini's info to be the most helpful.

Lillie, thank you for your kind words ,I do have good needles and just ordered some new ones that I got yesterday from Jean Lyle collection ,I have been hearing really good things about these needles . I do like using the straw needles as it gives me better control , , I'm looking so foward to meeting Gini At VB retreat and know I will gain some much needed Knowledge on doing this .and I have been spolied by doing my applique by machine. LOL Barbara

Please, pleas, please take pics of you and Gini and the rest of the ladies who are able to attend and post them here for the rest of us. It will be so wonderful to have a face to go with all the loving, thoughtful friends we've become.
From past experience I can tell you there will be pleanty of pictures , We are all picture taking junkies, So I don't think you will have to worry , besides MN Nancy make a good reporter .and does a great job keeping everyone informed . I think Kris does this as well .. BArbara
