Frances:
Kris,

I love your block your cat looks great.

Thanks Frances.

Bonita:
Do you stitch the stripes down at the same time as you stitch the cats body? Or add them after the cats back and tail?

I've added the stripes before any stitching.

I've almost got the cat's body and the tree limb appliqued on...Gini is a great teacher, but I'm afraid I'm a bad student.

I think he's going to a clown cat, if I can ever finish him...

This is my first try at needle turn, and I don't whatever possessed me to do this.

Loveyour kitty Karla.   He may need a little black embroidered under he feet so they stand out a bit more.   I like the fabrics you've chosen

Karla, and all,  I found a very nice tutorial on needle turn.  I added it to pages, it is the first link, Karen's quilts............

Thanks, I'll have to take a look at that tutorial when I get a chance.  In the meantime, the cat is beginning to look a little more like a cat.  Yesterday, at a Sunday dinner and games with DD1's inlaws, I managed to add some of the strips to him while still playing the game and keeping up with the conversation and the baby holding.

Here's a picture with some of the stripes sewn on and some on the head just laid on.  I'm going to have to find some brighter yellow for the eyes and these just done show up.

Karla

This is a very purrty cat.  I really like your fabric choices.  I'm still getting my kitty sewn down.  These big pieces take awhile to stitch down, but I'm really having fun with the quilt.
