Here are the fabrics i selected for the Fall 2013 projects.
I havehe Apples & Pears pieces cut out & ready to appliqué. I cut out the holly leaves, squares, etc. So need to work on piecing the blocks this week.
I prefer to cut everything out at one time then glue baste the appliqué pieces so everything is ready so I can sit & sew while watching TV in the evenings.
Looking forward to seeing your fabric selections for the project(s) you are going to join us in working on!
So here is my Apples & Pears all appliquéd and ready to add the batting & backing then quilt. It turned out very nice. I guess I'll get to practice my FMQ (I'm still not real proficient, but this will be good practice.) Then tomorrow evening I'll work on appliquéing the Holly table topper. Is anyone else working on either of these?
Ooh how pretty Patricia. I like it.
Very nice. You work fast. I have all the pieces cut for the Christmas one. Now to find the time.
I finished the Apples & Pears Mat. I did OK on my quilting & like the way it turned out. I think this one will go to one of my (3) sisters for Christmas. Now to work on the Holly table topper.
Pretty Patricia! I like it!
Patricia Faye, it turned out beautiful. You sure are speedy. I have the pattern but so far that's it.
Thank you Bonita & Janet. I love being retired so I can do the things I love!
So I've completed putting the top of the Holly Table Topper together & completed the appliqué. I don't really like the white & cream blocks as the centerpiece & I think if I made this again, it would be a solid panel instead. The holly appliqué was fast & easy to do. I had the border fabric around for a couple of years & was able to use up some of it for this. I have the (red like the inner border) binding ready & need to decide what backing to use.
I like it Patricia. Especially that border fabric. WTG.
We're doing Thanksgiving and Christmas this weekend. I wanted to make something but no dice. Perhaps next year.
very nice patricia faye. you would think that with sam gone the past month i would find more time, but no. not so far.
Here is my finished Christmas Holly Table Topper. I went crazy practicing my FMQ in the center block. I'm still a novice with the FMQ but it turned out OK. Especially after it was washed! Sorry the picture turned out a little dark.
Very pretty Patricia Faye.
Congratulations on the finish Patricia. Your quilting looks good.
