Melody,

I love your block.   Your poem was cute too.   I think you did a great job.  The curtains are such a cute idea.

Mel,

I love your block it looks great.

Heres mine no embroidery as yet since im waiting to go to the quilt show in August to pick up some bits and bobs to attach.

Oh my base fabric isnt cotton i had some fabric it feels a bit like suede but lots thinner i thought this would make it more of a touchy feely quilt.

lots of love

The blue background is something I never would have thought of. I'll bet it will be nice and soft!

Francis, Well done, how clever to use the fabric you did for the back!  If you added vines and a rock wall and path you'd have an English Cottage!  I have been scoping out pictures to make one English.  You know the lovely flower gardens and short front doors and low windows.........just making this up as I go!  Good job, my Friend!

Thank you everyone,

Janet, Gini inspired me with the background as up until i did the Wildflowers, I thought all backings were white or cream, Gini showed that the difference in the backgrounds can really make a difference, something i had never thought of before.

lots of love

I'm finally done with both my Cottages Block 1. I am making a fabric scrapbook for my granddaughters and incorporating photos from their family into each block.  One of my blocks has crooked windows but by the time I realized it I had already done embroidery on them.   Dog gone, those bricks settled.  I think I've made enough French knots for a while. Hahaha
