I'm considering this.  Looks like a fun project and I've been wanting to start doing some applique.  I've downloaded all the instructions... just a matter of seeing how busy I am when you ladies are getting started.  :)  I would probably start with machine applique - at least for the larger pieces.

I have the first one cut out and the cottage stitched on the background.  I have pinned and unpinned the edge a number of times but I think I finally have it in the right place.  Now if I can get it to sew on in some type of close to right I will be happy.

Are we going to start with block #1 with the snowman, or since we're starting in March, will we start with block #3 with the shamrocks?

To keep things simple, I think it would be best to start with block #1 the snowman.  What do the rest of you think about that?

I was just looking at these blocks the other day!  I'm in; I'll try to do needle turn but will probably end up going to the machine.  I'll get the patterns downloaded and go pick up background fabric on Friday.

Patricia,

I'm really looking forward to this.  I had found this pattern then someone from another group told me you were doing this so I would love to join in.  It is always more fun to learn something new with others.

I don't care where we start.

I'm not too fond of some of the larger elements on the left side of each block. They just seem so out of proportion to me. I might make other elements in those areas and I'll post them as I get them completed. Or were you going to offer alternatives yourself? Specifically, Block 4 and Block 8.
