Emily, this is so beautiful. Love the fabrics. Love everything about it. I hear you about the eyes crossing with all those tiny petals. I haven't done this one yet.

Thanks a bunch, Nana!
you can approach this block a couple of ways. you can make the outside petals all in one piece, and you can do the same with the inside petals. you can make the outside petals as one piece, but do the inside petal individually. this will save quite a bit of time. i've made sunflowers this way and they look pretty good.
the above was done with all the inside petals as one piece. it looks pretty good.
this one is for crazies, who do each petal individually. both of them look good, just different.
and one for the lazies : )
Gini, these are stunning. I was a crazy. When I first looked before reading I thought, now I'd never do 2 of these, lol. However, I do like block #2 the best, but that's more about the fabrics and my tastes. It's nice that you showed the easy way, too, especially for those just starting out. They are both beautiful, though, as usual. Are you doing the pattern border or are you doing something else?
thanks linny, i don't think i will do the border they provided. it will be some form of applique, but i don't know what yet.
You did a great job, Gini. But two of them? Where do you get the patience?? I like the second one better too. Although the first is certainly a prize winner too. I did the outer leaves on mine in one piece - individually was too much of a hassle. Since the inner ones show up more, I did those individually. I still say you are going at a very fast rate with these flowers - and you are quilting other stuff too? Unbelievable!
thanks emily, i do a lot of waiting for kids and catch a few minutes to sew here and there. when sam is gone, i cut out all my pieces. once the fabrics are selected and cut out, it doesn't take too long to stitch them.
