Kris,
Wow, thank you.
gini: if the innie happens to be on the bias this is enough and works very well. it works not as well on the straight of grain, but i took a class from mary sorenson and she doesn't clip anything.
Great advice Gini. I would have never even considered the bias in working these. Thank you.
I checked out Mary's link. I see she has a DVD out too with a really cute cardinal block for the lesson. What do you think? Would it be a worthwhile learning tool?
i haven't seen mary's DVD, in person she's phenominal. you know what, i think i will order it and give you all a thumbs up or down. she has great techniques for ribbons and how to make them look like they are turned to the other side, and her prep work, though lengthy, makes for perfect applique. i'll get the DVD and see how many of her techniques are on it.

That's really nice of you Gini. Thanks so much.
gini: very nice stephanie, you can also twist the fabric back and forth pretty vigorously on the fold line to stretch the fabric. most of the time this will give you enough "give" to get an inside curve, too.

Gini, thanks for a great little tip. I never thought of doing this...sort of wrangling the fabric into place. I will try this for sure.

Lovely!! Like all the others.
Beautiful, linny
Thanks, you guys. I've started Googling the flowers to see what they really look like. The picture of the quilt has them so small and the descriptions with the patterns aren't always enough.
linny, you can go to her website in the gallery and find these posted individually, or maybe it's three at a time. anyway, they show up the colors very well.
Thanks Gini. That's helpful.
you're welcome
