this block was pretty easy, because i cheated. : ) instead of making stripes, i used three fabrics for the basket. i probably saved a few hours of stitching by doing it this way. i needed more black and white for balance and these worked great for a basket.

I love it Gini.
I'm in the selecting fabrics stage of this block. What a great idea to use a single fabric for the body of the basket instead of using stripes.
Wonderful block Gini. Love the way your basket came out. Keep up the good work.
We always learn so much from you! You block looks great, I love how the basket turned out.
Gini, this is such a pretty block. I love your choice of fabricsas usual and in the pot especially. I'm still sewing on tiny little circles in the Birds at the Fountain block. I'm way behind everyone and that block is just killing me. Still, I'm determined to finish all of them. I'm glad the next blocks look easier.

Thanks everyone. Linny, the fountain is the hardest block, the rest are a lot easier.

Thanks, Gini. That's good to hear. I finished the last little dot on the fountain last night. I'm thinking of either embroidering or putting buttons for the centers of the 2 flowers. I have the little circle making templates, but none were small enough for the fountain or the flowers. Now all I have left is the 2 little dodadds on the fountain and the embroidery...piece of cake.
I'm still working on this silly block. I was having some wrist pain so gave it a rest but I started again two days ago and I think my stems are too long (not sure how I did that). I have some of the petals sewn but I'm a bit discouraged. I might set this aside and move to my next (and final) block.

Gini - Very pretty block and even if you did cheat, you did it beautifully! LOL! I was wondering what you guys are making these blocks for? Is this one of the groups? OMG - I've got way too many irons in the fire right now to take anything else on but, this is gosh-darn pretty.
sheila, thanks for the comments, this is the quilt we started as a group last spring. it is baltimore's country cousin. it has been a fun project.
kris, as long as your stems aren't too long for the finished size of your block, they're fine. add a couple of extra leaves and you're good to go.
Thanks Gini,
I thought of that but didn't measure. I think it will make it...barely.
