Jacy: Yep I think I'm doing this one too, I really liked when I first saw it. Mine will probably be machine applique though, I just don't have a lot of hand-sewing time, and way too many projects I want to make.

Yay Jacy. We're totally opposite. I seem to have more hand sewing time than machine time.
It is a pain in the neck to quilt around buttons

Thank you very much, Kris and Gini,
I think i will probably hand quilt this one, by the time i finish this my sewing room will have been moved and i will be able to have my new hand quilting frame up.

Ok, I'm confused (nothing new). Are we doing the Vintage Flowers or Jingle or both? I ordered Vintage Flowers but will order Jingle too if we are doing it. Gee, this group really keeps me on my toes. I'm doing the Cottages too. I think we are doing three instead of two because Gini was pacing and wringing her hands to start a new hand project. LOL I'm in for three since my RR will be coming to a close. Can anyone un-confuse me or is this a normal state of mind?

Frances: Hi Everyone, Can someone help me with a question, has anyone used buttons on a quilt and if so when have they added them, after theyve quilted it or before. Im thinking about extras i can add to the Country cottages blocks. lots of love Francesxx

Hi Frances,
It depends on how you are going to quilt your piece. If it's going to be light or heavy quilting. On your home sewing machine or professionally quilted. I've done both home and professional and had all my embellishments added before it was quilted.
I do a lot of crazy quilting and I add everything before I quilt. Last year, I made a hand embroidered snowman quilt and added everything first. Then quilted around all the embellishments. It took Second Place at the County Fair.

Yikes Maggie! You're going to be super busy. Good on ya.
Hi Maggie,
I could be wrong, and may also be in a state of confusion, but I think Fantasy Flowers is the next offical group project, see page 42 for a picture. People are also doing Country Cottages. Gini and some of the other more prolific, who have lots of time, and applique really fast (ok compared to my snails pace, LOL) are doing another project or two.
Hope this helps.
Maggie, I am so sorry to confuse you. We will be doing fantasy flowers as a group. I usually have several appliqué quilts going at a time. I was on the fence about the jingle quilt, until I looked at the quilt with it's surrounding blocks. I'll be posting my progress on that quilt as well as the one we are doing as a group.
And Maggie, there is nothing stopping you from working both quilts too. : )
Kris and/or Gini
Has the center block on Jingle been posted? I couldn't find it if it has. The 2 links for a pdf says that the page doesn't exist. You guys are such enablers. At least this pattern is free....LOL>

I think you had to buy this one for $10
Thanks Jacy. I will go back and see if I can find it.
nana, i had to scroll through a few pages to find it.

I finally found it. Just took a while. You are so bad finding all these neat patterns and then telling me about them. I will have to live to 200 to even make a dent in the ones I have collected....LOL>
