gini:why don't you wash the block and see.
Good idea.
Should I wash/felt wool I bought at the LQS?
I felted all the wool from thrift store finds. Do you ever find green wool clothing? Green is what I had to go buy new.
i have lots of green, send me your addy and i'll send some to you. the wool you get in the shops in little squares should already be felted, but the wool on the bolt is not.

How do you felt wool?
Emily: How do you felt wool?
I believe you wash in hot water.
Jacy:I did a wool applique block. It was pretty quick to make.
That's a really cute block Jacy.
emily, you toss it in the washer with a little detergent and hot water, and dry it in a hot dryer.
OK, thanks, Gini. As my sister says, count it a day lost when you don't learn something new.
i'm sure i learn new things everyday. i just can't remember what they are.
gini: the donut onthe left will work with darker fabrics, the one on the right will work with more pastel colors.

Thanks Gini, don't know why I couldn't see that.
I saw picture of your quilt and have to say it is simply beautiful!

Your block is really cute. I just recently found 3 skirts and a woman's blazer that are all green wool. I am having trouble finding "white" wools.

While web surfing I ran across this free pattern and thought some of you would get a kick out of it. Not suggesting this by no means. It just made me smile.

Gini, what is the difference between using "felted wool" and felt?
Thanks Gini, Kris and Nana.
I haven't had a chance to wash my block yet to see how washable it is, SIL is visiting from Hawaii.
Gini, I would love some green. Thank You!
Nana, I haven't found any white or cream yet but lots of neutrals.
