Gini,
I think since im slower than the slow boat to China, i will still be finishing the Wildflowers when you have all finished Country cottages so if you dont mind i wont join you with the next one but will continue to cheer you all on from the sidelines (while lurking quite a bit as well). Although when i do finish the wildflowers i think it will be another one from P3 designs as i really like her designs (possibly the tropical one).
lots of love
Francesxx
Hey Frances,
I just purchased the Wildflower pattern so I know you will finish waay before me. I also bought the Christmas Star Quilt and also like the Tropical Garden and may get it later.
I am looking forward to working on the Country Cottages Now I just need to some more practice appliqueing before my wildflower pattern comes in...
from TN
the cottages are free to download, frances, you might as well get them. then you will have them if you change your mind. : )

lol Frances. I have not even started the Wildflowers yet. And , my Baltimore block book from the year before is still sitting on my shelf. I have been so busy with other projects and handwork. I figured I might actually finish Country Cottages. lol

I just received my Wildflower pattern and see that it calls for Sulky 12 wt cotton threads. Is this what you all use for this and if so is there a place you buy it? I checked JoAnns web site and only saw a set which cost quite a bit.
is that for machine applique? i do hand applique and i use 60 wt. cotton. i'll look at my pattern when i get home.
Maybe the 12 wt thread is for the embroidery, you can use DMC or other floss.
Yep the 12wt is for embroidery kinda like a pearl cotton. Floss is much cheaper.
emily, you can get baltimore's country cousin here

Gini. thank you for the link.
you're welcome, emily
i have all of my wildflowers cut out and ready to sew. sam and i both have colds, so i stayed in and sewed, he played his last game of golf for the year. he came home, we looked at each other, and took an afternoon nap, something we never do. i'm hoping we can stay awake to watch SNL, now. we're supposed to get snow for the next few evenings. i have my snow angel outfit all ready to go.
Wow, you are ahead of the game with your wildflowers. I'm sorry to hear you have a cold. The snow sounds good to us. We are in Florida where I am still wearing shorts and tank tops and the air conditioning is going all the time. Cold weather would be a nice change. I hope you both feel better quickly. And nothing is wrong with a nap. I do it all the time. (Maybe that's not a good thing?? Maybe I should be quilting??)
the next couple of months are gong to be very busy, so i needed to get out ahead with these blocks. now i can concentrte on the three quilts i need to finish before christmas
Thanks Lillie,
I dont feel quite so bad now, Gini seems to speed through these, i would love to know her secret.

Gini, sorry to hear you and Sam are under the weather. Hope you're both feeling better today. I bet the snow is beautiful and really encourages one to stay indoors and sew.
I have 2 questions. What is SNL and what is your snow angel outfit?
We had cooler weather here in FL. Nice sleeping finally and this morning is cool and clear. Later it'll be back in the 80's though, so not an AC free day, probably. I'll take what I can get and be thankful, though.
