Here is our next block. It is pretty easy. i've been wanting to introduce more black and white to my blocks, and after i got the vase made, i thought hearts on it would be a little too much. i may add them later, but for now it's good to go.
the vase gave me a few fits. i had my flowers cut out and i could not find a fabric that gave the right balance. i interviewed many fabrics for the vase. i had gotten this fabric for a baby quilt, just threw it on the background in despiration, and loved it. it gave perfect balance to the block, and it was black and white.i love it when a plan comes together. and, i hope you all have as much fun with this block as i did. gini

Beautiful block Gini. I love the black and white fabric. I also really like your stem fabric.
I've been auditioning fabrics for my block today. I think I have it all set. Now to get the pieces ready.
Here's my effort this month. I'm not crazy about this block but It's done.
I love the batiks in this block. The background fabric adds interest. Nice job, Kris.
Thank you Pamela.
I took the opportunity to use my purple scraps on this block. The hearts on the bowl I did using reverse applique. I wasn't sure about those dots on the points, but after finishing the rest, I thought it really needed something, so I left them.
beautiful block sal, i like the paisley, the dark green behind your flower really sets it off, nice work
Beautiful block, Sal
Good looking block Sal. Mine is coming along. After being gone all summer, it is slow catching up.
Great block Grandma Sal. I just love the fabrics here.
Grandma Sal, I love your colors!
Gini, somehow I missed seeing your block. Beautiful, as usual! I like the bold strips in the pot I finally printed out my pattern last night and have managed to cut it all out in freezer paper. I was thinking while cutting, "Oh look at all those little tiny hearts." It's nice to see yours without them to see how it looks. Now I don't know if I'll put them in or not.
I need to catch up with posting pictures of my blocks. I think I'm about 2 behind. I really have been keeping up with you all, but I guess I'll have to prove it sooner or later, lol.
Hi, I'm new here today and love applique! I've only used fusible webbing so far. I've quilted for almost 25 years and consider myself a very confident beginner. Meaning I'm scared to try new things. I would love to try turn applique but need lots of info before I try it. Love this website. I love this block. The pattern is wonderful and I just love the fabrics!! Well, I'm going to browse now. Thanks and Hi to everyone. Jeanne Crowell (jcrow54)
Gini, Kris and Sal - all of your blocks are wonderful! Good job done by all 3 of you. Hopefully I will get my posted soon - have 4 more leaves to get stitched down.
