A Mystery in Three Parts

I was curious to see what everyone's reaction was to the final reveal of the mystery quilt.... I didn't care for it much when I first saw it, but decided to finish my committment and the quilt has grown on me. I am almost done and am glad that I stuck it out, but not sure if I will do another mystery for a little while. What did you all think of it??

I won't give anything away, in case some of you have not seen it yet, just know the design is one that is kind of unexpected.

Pressing seams in blocks - Part II of Mystery Quilt

Hi there

I just have a quick question - now I've finished sewing the Part II blocks, which way should I press my seams? Or won't it matter in the final quilt construction?

I'm eagerly awaiting Part III - but as I live in Switzerland, the magazine takes a while to arrive - so far I've managed to avoid looking at any photos of the finished article as I want it to be a surprise when I get the magazine in the next couple of weeks :-)

Mystery - Part 2

Hi there. With so much anticipation I waited for the next set of directions for the Mystery in three parts.

The magazine came in the mail yesterday and when I feverishly looked at the table of contents to see where my next set of instructions were, I frantically turned to the page.

Oh this must be some mistake I first said. The instructions were in the last few pages of the magazine--this was much to important to their fans not to have more prominence.

Then when I looked at the pictures, I was certain that I must have gotten a copy that was missing some pages.

I waited anxiously for two months, along with my friend, to get our next assignment; and I am sorry but there is no other way to say this -- I WAS SOOOO DISAPPOINTED.

That was it??? I was sure there had to be more. Somehow my heart sank a bit yesterday. I hope that McCall's realizes that their fans are eagerly waiting for instruction. We quilt because we love it. We quilt because it gives us pleasure. We quilt because we learn new techniques and we quilt because we enjoy the fellowship that comes with it.

Sorry, but I think the magazine and this project missed their mark with part 2. Wasnt there just a little bit more that you could have given us?

I hope that I dont sound harsh with what I said above. I know I will carry on, but now I have to wait another two more months to get the final instructions, and somehow the anticipatory butterflies in my stomach have flown away.

This is my first mystery quilt. I'm so excited. I posted on my FB Quilt Group about it and 38 gals said that they'd do it too. One as far away as Denmark!! She couldn't find the magazine so I sent her the URL for the on line store. Anyway, I chose my fabric and have made the units for the first part Jan/Feb. Now I can't wait for the next magazine. How are ya'll doin'?

A bit behind... fabric selection question

does anyone privy to the mystery know if I can use fat quarters for Fabric A.... I bought 6 matching one day so could use them for the small size.... if its not used in the border.... hate to have to piece it together
