  • Pre-cutting and storing fabric

I have several (over 10) quilts that I have designed for me to do, and all the fabric plus some of the backing fabric too. I have more fabric than needed for the quilt tops. Some I would like to donate to Quilts of Valor, some I would like to donate, some leftovers to keep. Mostly in the name of sanity...

  • ruler storage

I moved to Florida in December, and in unpacking I know I saw the ruler holder. You know, that 6" X 24" piece of wood with the grooves? SOMEWHERE I saw it, but do you think I can find the thing? Of course not. I set it aside (somewhere) as I was working on unpacking another endless box. Now...

  • How do you sort your patterns?

I am finally doing it! Reorganizing my studio that is! I recently had a Thirty-One show in my home and was able to get most of the storage things I need to organize my studio. (I think I may need to have another show to get the rest of what I need). They have great square and rectangle bins with "windows"...

  • Keep your pins handy

I already had this spice rack, but I didn't like it for spices. As I looked at it, I saw that it would be good in my sewing room. Now I have all of my different kinds of pins stored on a shelf right above my cutting table. Even though the front is clear, I taped a sample of the pin that is inside...

  • Re: Fat Quarter storage

Costgo sells the spring garden lettuce in clear plastic containers. I save these and they are the perfect size for storing fat quarters. Repurpose - recycle. Keeps them out of the land fill and keeps my fabric so happy.

  • Bobbins to go

I use an empty Altoid tin to hold my bobbins when going to classes or sit and sew. After using it for a year I decided to decorate the lid - turned out cute, The tin will hold 12 bobbins. No more stopping to fill a bobbin,

  • Staying green and ready to go.

I am sure we all have someone in the house taking some sort of prescription med. Have you ever thought of how many of these pill bottles go into landfills. [quote user=" LaJuan Sukochi Lee"] [quote user="Sheila"] Carol - Lucky you having artistic talent, too! I'm jealous. Thought I'd share a find I made yesterday at Staples. In the section where they have all of the storage crates, totes, etc. I found plastic boxes that are the...
