  • Pinning Tip

When I am quilting, or doing any sewing I use two pin cushions. One on my work area where I do my pinning and one by my machine. That way I am not having to move my pin cushion around all the time. When the one at the pinning area is empty, then I switch them around.

Now I know where to look right away for the...

  • recycle mattress pads

Here's an article I wrote about my mother's quilting idea. When my dad had cancer and was bed ridden, she recycled old mattress pads into bed pads. This would make a good service project for older girl scouts working on their Gold Award.

  • Piecing Pics

Once I have arranged my pieces to my satisfaction, I take a digital picture (or two) and keep my camera handy at my sewing table to refer to. It is quite a timesaver, and prevents me from sewing wrong pieces together and having to start over.
