  • Re: Creating a quilting room in a garage

Agnes, I have changed to daylight bulbs too and I find it most helpful. I also have several lamp stands that I have been able to find when they are on sale that give off daylight that I found helpful. A cute link to some sewing room suggestions is on Erica's Blog . On the spiders, I agree about "bombing"...

  • Re: Fat Quarter storage

Costgo sells the spring garden lettuce in clear plastic containers. I save these and they are the perfect size for storing fat quarters. Repurpose - recycle. Keeps them out of the land fill and keeps my fabric so happy.

  • Magnet for loose pins

I have a magnetic pin bowl, but as I travel from cutting mat, to ironing board, to sewing machine...it sometimes fails to make the trip! • Convert Ironing Board to Quilting Table

I use a spare bedroom for my sewing room so I am always interested in "convert-able" sewing furniture. I recently saw in a catalog a padded board made for applying over an ironing board. It could be purchased with a pad and grid-printed drawstring cover and (at extra cost) a cutting mat. The...

i have my quilting studio now. Yeah!!! I'm using a 7-foot long 35" wide old (my husband thinks it was homemade; he found it somewhere) buffet-style table to sew on. My machine is at one end and at the other end I have my large cutting mat on a piece of OSB that my husband cut for me, setting...

  • Re: What does your sewing room/space/studio look like?

Hey to everyone! I'm in B.C. today and the weather is so cold - there is frost everywhere and it looked like snow this morning. I wanted to post a few photos of my home office studio. I had been sewing/quilting/writing in my basement.....and just found no matter what I did, the light down there was...
