  • Help: Sewing/Quilting Machine Advice?

I'm new to quilting and am in the market for a new machine that has more room for machine quilting than my Brother CS6000i (which was free). It's great for taking to classes and piecing. I've been looking at the Brother DreamCreator VQ2400 and within a 30 mile radius of my home I have found...

I'm in the market to upgrade my machine. I recently started working with felted wool and need a machine that is: A. heavy duty enough to handle thick fabric B. preferably comes with a walking foot c. has a decent space for the rolled quilt; extra table space would be great also. Thanks, I'd appreciate...

  • Sovereign Precision Sewing Machine

I just acquired a Sovereign Precison sewing machine. It seems to be in excellent condition, but no manual. It is VERY heavy. There numbers on the underside: E55 (vertical line) 5552M. Can anyone direct me to more information about this machine. A medalion on the front says made in Japan. Thanks Littlereader...

  • Re: What machine are you working with???

I have a Quattro 6000 that my hubby bought me a couple of years ago for Mother's Day. I absolutely love that machine. It has an upgrade available but I haven't gotten it yet. I'm still learning everything the machine can do without the upgrade. It is awesome for piecing and quilting and I...

  • Lightweight Machine for Classes

I want to buy a new sewing machine that is light enough to take to quilting classes. My current machine (a Bernina) weighs too much to haul around without giving myself a hernia. Does anyone have any suggestions on a good lightweight, reliable make/model that doesn't cost a small fortune?

I have been searching for a new machine but have no clue what I should go for. I want something easy to use, multiple stitches, lettering and can easily handle...

  • Re: Home Quilting Machines

Craigslist is a really good idea! Maybe I will find my dream machine on there!!! Penny I don't think I could ever go back to a machine with a "normal" throat size after using my Pfaff grand quilter for so long. It makes quilting so much easier with the wide throat...I think mine is 17"...

  • Time for a new Sewing Machine ?

About 8 years ago, before I knew anything about sewing or quilting, I paid less than 200 for a Sears branded Janome Harmony 4052 sewing machine. Paid an extra 30 for a walking foot (once I found out what it was). This is a really basic machine that has taken me through 6 bed sized quilts and a half dozen...

  • domestic machine quilting, help please

I've been working through a book "Easy Machine Quilting". I've done the exorcizes on 14" blocks, they turned out really well and like to use my domestic machine for quilting. But now I have a lap quilt (maybe a little bigger) I want to start on. I've done a bit, but find myself...
