    Diane and Stephanie, You both asked about monofilament thread. There is great information at http://www.superiorthreads.com with lots of educational info as well as product info. I love their MonoPoly which is a polyester monofilament invisible thread that is soft and heat resistant unlike nylon monofilament...

    Hi Everyone, I don't know if you've seen the Feb/Mar 2010 issue of Quilters Newsletter, but there is an article in by Holly Hassett. She says "Taking the time to reflect on your journey as a quiltmaker will help you recognize both technical and creative growth." She suggests 5 exercises...

  • Quilt made in memory of my MIL - a Mark Lipinski pattern

    I just wanted to show you a quilt I made for my FIL in memory of my MIL. My MIL loved flowers and her garden. It is a Mark Lipinski pattern. The fabric is large bright, realisic looking flowers. The pattern is supposed to look like flowers peeking through lattice. Janie

    i have a quilting question. i have this baby quilt that im trying to get done fairly soon, within the next couple of weeks. i need ideas on how to quilt this very simply but nice. i would love to make the animals stand out too. i need some ideas from you ladies. here are some pictures... here is a close...

  • I'm new - from MA and a new quilter I need help

    Tammy, I have ordered big and small kits. The cloth pieces come folded and have to be cut. So far the leftovers are piling up. I have lots of leftovers and some fairly good size chunks. Going to have to use them up sometime. Even the table runner kit came and I thought it wasn't going to go far enough...

    I've been a member for a couple of months now but I just got around to reading all of the instructions for posting. I hope to retire in the next 45 days and I am really looking forward to quilting and spending time with my family. I rarely get to quilt during the week because my schedule is so difficult...
