  • Re: Mystery Quilt #11 — Hot Air Balloons

[quote user="ls2116"] I've never heard of rectangle geese but I'm guessing here on step 2 I draw a diagonal line then layer again and sew 1/4" on each side of line on the rectangles only that are dark and contrast? Then what do i do on the squares. Do they become HST that i just...

  • Mystery Quilt

I have been a premium member for several years now and really look forward to the mystery quilts each year. I was wondering if we were going to do one this year? I am happy to moderate it and work one up if that's what is needed. I just enjoy the company and enjoyment we get out of working together...

  • I am new here, from Montreal, Quebec

I am new to this forum so here is a brief description of myself. I am retired from work; I used to be amedical secretary to a family doctor. Also, I am new to quilting but already made 3 pieces, mostly murals. I have a major problem: I start many things at the same time. So far, I have a lap flying geese...

  • Learning curve is pretty steep for me.

I have struggled with a complex quilt kit most of the year. Finally got to the last border; quite wide and beautiful fabric; only to find that I had mis-measured. My quilt is now 10" too wide and long. So as I see it, I can double the next to last border and make a 2" flange; cut half of my...

  • Keeping your Quilt Block in the Order you want them.

I don't know about you but once I have finished with all my blocks and have them in the order I want them in on my quilt wall, I have a heck of a time keeping them in that order when I need to sew. So instead of the little round labels or post-its that everyone else likes to use I use the photo/scrapbook...

  • Re: What Are You Up to Today? #9

Well, I have learned how to use QCA, looked at many baby quilts in the Gallery, joined some groups and I hope gotten revved up to try quilting again. About 4 years ago I took a beginning quilting class. Made a wall hanging top I love, but its never been finished :/ However, this did not slow me up on...

  • Using embroidered blocks

Hi! I have been machine quilting for several years and recently started hand quilting with a group from my church. Now I have volunteered to set together six embroidered blocks that have to be set together for the printed quilting design to work. However, I need the finished quilt to measure about 90...
