I am considering getting a quilting frame. I am thinking about possibly getting the Flynn multi-frame or something similar. I was wondering if anyone has used one or something similar and if so what are your opinions on it. Is it worth it? Is there anything I should know before buying it? I don't...

I was wondering if anyone has gotten a sewing machine from Wal-mart or Sears before, Yesterday I was at Super Wal-mart in Ardmore and noticed that they had more sewing Machines and even embroidery ones to on the shelf. Anyone use a Bernina Activa 210? I am getting ready to do some machine quilting with it and just wondered about HOW to do it. I have a quilting foot, and good quality machine quilt thread for the top and I am using a recommended needle that has a larger notch for the thread to go through. I have read...

I am a new quilter and have recently heard about quilting as you go. Has anyone worked a large quilt this way and do you prefer this over quilting the entire project after basting the quilt sandwich? Any tips would be appreciated!

I'm about to machine quilt a real quilt for the first time--after practicing--and was wondering if invisible thread is appropriate for a flannel baby quilt. I don't know if there are safety issues for the baby, or if the filament will cut the flannel? Thanks!. Steph

Most of my quilts wind up being just meandered, becasue I am to chicken to do anything else. I spend time at work, in meetings, doodling my quilting patterns, but when I sit...

Hello Frances. Great question! I began quilting my quilts, even queen size, on a brother sewing machine. Nothing special. I graduated to a Pfaff Grand quilter a little over 2 years ago. I have it set up like a regular sewing machine. I do all my piecing and quilting on it. I could never afford to set...

I recently had both of my singer sewing machines die on me...I love to quilt and play with the fabric. Now all i can do is look at the fabric. I have been searching for a new machine but have no clue what I should go for. I want something easy to use, multiple stitches, lettering and can easily handle...

Robin, I always use cotton for piecing because it shrinks and blends better with the fabrics. But when quilting the quilt, I use whatever works best with the look I'm trying to achieve. I will say that most of the time its cotton, but in different weights. I also use the clear mono-filament thread...
