Hi, I've come to this site looking for help to finish a quilting project. I've already invested much time and $$$ in this project and really don't want to see it sit on the shelf forever and not get finished. It is an applique piece. I've done nearly all of the work. However, I've...

  • domestic machine quilting, help please

I've been working through a book "Easy Machine Quilting". I've done the exorcizes on 14" blocks, they turned out really well and like to use my domestic machine for quilting. But now I have a lap quilt (maybe a little bigger) I want to start on. I've done a bit, but find myself...

  • Re: Do you have a favorite quilt that you have made?

I did my first wall hanging and still have it on the wall going up the stairs. It doesn't have very many matching points, and the fabric was very costly, talk about humble . I gave my frist quilt to an auction for a library fund raiser. It was log cabin , in the design of hearts and the pillow line...

  • Sashing Question

I took a class a couple of years ago and we made a few bright color blocks. I decided I might as well make more and end up with a bright quilt. Bright it is!! I have made 30 blocks out of all different bright scraps that I had plus buying a few others, each block a different pattern. I took my old stand...

  • Re: Special time of year for sewing

Hi Jo Ann, This is my first post. While I do quilt year round, I especially enjoy the fall. Here in the heart of Texas, fall arrives kind of late compared to other parts of the country, but as soon as it turns September, my thoughts naturally turn to the upcoming holidays, and I begin to get excited...

  • Re: Hiding fabric from your husband

I guess it is time to share one of my shopping/husband stories. Ike and I have been married almost 40 years. several years ago on Superbowl Sunday I went to Joann's. When I got there they were having a 50% off on quilting fabric. I figured I could always use backing fabric so I bought 3 1/2 yard...

  • More than just one project in the works

Hi everyone, do you have more than one project going on at the same time? I like to have at least two projects going at the same time, like one piece for machine piecing and one piece for hand piecing or an applique piece and of course a hand quilting piece. I like to have more things going on at the...

  • Re: Quilt Inspiration

I made it my goal this winter to finish projects I had started, complete kits I had purchased, and get those beauties I had pieced, but not quilted off to a quilter. In order to finish those things that had not met my expectations I would tell myself I can not work on something 'new' until the...

  • Quilt Inspiration

How does one maintain one's inspiration? I've been working on this quilt for months and now that I am almost finished-just a little more stitch design-I can't bring myself to go back to it. I'm already contemplating another quilt pattern but feel guilty since I have not completed this...
