I am working on a man-cave quilt made entirely of Batik's. I am very meticulous when it comes to cutting my pieces . . . I measure, and then measure again . . . and when I make my cuts, I remeasure the cut pieces to make sure they're the right dimensions. My seam allowances are set to 1/4"...
I had a lap quilt laid out on my design board the other night. DH came by and expressed his opinion that overall it was 'too dark'. Maybe it needed 'lighter and brighter' colors added. Then he also asked if it would be more 'interesting' if the square thingys (blocks) were diagonal...
I think it was in an advertisement for batik fabrics about six months ago. This quilt block has three squares, a large outer square, then an offset medium square and a smaller one that is not exactly square and offset from the other squares of the block.
