  • Re: Did You Work on a Quilt Today? #9

Judy, thanks for telling me to delete my browsing history again....it seems to be working now, except for making multiple posts to the LUS group. It's making me wait an hour in between posts, which is annoying. I've started posting the 4/8 assignments, because I figure it will take me until Tuesday...

  • Re: What Are You Up to Today? #9

Thanks to so many of you for your friendly hellos. Got back from church and done with cleaning up lunch. Now to try my hand at cutting and making iron-on teddy bear appliqué. My pattern from Baby Quilts magazine calls for 9 of them. I have had such a mental-block against making this quilt! Maybe...

  • Re: I'm NEW -- Time-sensitive advice please on applique

UPDATE as of 1-17 I'm taking a quilting class, and my instructor felt that undertaking the applique bulldog quilt might not be the best option for my first attempt, given the deadline (baby shower in 6 weeks) and her desire that I'm extraordinarily successful and thrilled with the results of...

  • Re: I'm NEW -- Time-sensitive advice please on applique

Nana, Thank you SO much for your prompt response! That's so reassuring! Have you trapunto'd also and does that hold up, too? I have heard about two ways to trapunto: 1) sew applique, then cut the back of the fabric and insert extra batting, then stitch the hole closed 2) sew two layers of batting...

  • Re: Did You Work on a Quilt Today? #5

Here is the second quilt with the jungle prints. I started it at 9:00pm last night thinking I would just get it cut out but ended up staying up until it was done around 1:00 am. At least it is done. I have 3 quilts I have to get quilted before I can quilt these two but it is a relief in my mind to know...
