I posted these in my gallery, but thought I would share here as well. The letters "Happy St. Patrick's Day" are only 1" tall. The shamrocks are 3". Green beer, anyone? Rose

  • Fabric scraps from your pooch!

Every month when my Maltese is groomed, he comes home with a triangular cotton scarf tied around his neck. Many groomers do this for their customers. I save the triangles, wash and iron them, and put them in my stash to use for applique pieces or landscape quilts. The fabric is of good quality and best...

  • Think SPRING!!!

A customer and I were chatting the other day about not having snow this winter and it might as well warm up for the flowers. • Today I am starting my first "art" quilt! Cross your fingers!

  • Using Bias Bars to Press Bias Stems and they hang

Am needing some long bias stems for a project and planned to use bias bars for pressing. I sewed the pieces of fabric together using 45 degree seams to reduce bulk but my problem is that when I try to slide the bar through the part of the stem with a seam sometimes it goes right through and other times...

  • Re: Did you work on a quilt today? #4

Today I'm working on an applique bird from the book Applique takes Wings, by Jane Townswick. This bird is a cardinal with wings. Jane uses a very unique technique for birds. If you want to see some of my birds I posted some pictures in the applique group. Cathy

@ Sandy .... Can you show us some pics of the how-to? We don't always have the same things in our shops here, but if I can visualise it, I can substitute some of the elements. Please and Thanks!
