I just read Nana's reply and I am going to start sorting and cutting the way she suggested. I have so many scraps and no idea what to do with them, it was overwhelming. Now I have a starting point. Thanks for the tips from all the replies.Bettie

Am needing some long bias stems for a project and planned to use bias bars for pressing. I sewed the pieces of fabric together using 45 degree seams to reduce bulk but my problem is that when I try to slide the bar through the part of the stem with a seam sometimes it goes right through and other times...

Today I'm working on an applique bird from the book Applique takes Wings, by Jane Townswick. This bird is a cardinal with wings. Jane uses a very unique technique for birds. If you want to see some of my birds I posted some pictures in the applique group. Cathy

Buy a scrapbook and the clear pocket sheets. Place pieces and pattern for block on one side and on other side the background fabric block and the work in progress as you sew on your pieces. I made a real boo-boo and stitched thru 2 quilt squares while applique stitching , on Fisherman Fred . I wonder if i should redo both squares or try seam ripping the one off backside and just redo it . What do ya'll think ?? ("ya'll" from an Alabama girl ) Do other quilters do these...
