For those of you with a Long Arm machine..... would you buy the same machine you have now again? Last year I was looking at the HQ Avante with the Pro Stitcher but now more manufactures are coming out with computerized quilting. And I'm lost on which machine to really look at for purchasing. Here's...

Yesterday was the 3rd time I went to look at the Handi Quilter setup (HQ18 Avante and 10ft frame). 16K ! (yikes - that is a car payment). But I'm getting more and more serious about the purchase. Anyone familiar with a recent long arm purchase or this machine? I'm looking into the computer generated...

Hi Everyone! Wow, a big welcome to all the new members! So many in so few days. There is so much talent here! I am back from my visit with my sister in VT. Had a wonderful time! It is so beautiful up there in Northern Kingdom VT. How deceiving is the beauty of summer there though, the winters are brutal...

I have done one panto on a quilt and I loved doing it. I am not sure at all how to do a border with corners. The panto is marked but I would have to play with it on practice material to learn how to do a corner. I practice most everything I do for days before I do so I get it down and don't mess...

Hi Judylee. I appreciated your comments about the bobbin winder and need to check that out myself. Unfortunately, I bought my machine refurbished from the mfg and didn't get the manual so I need to do some research to see if I can find one online. One trick I learned (that most people probably already...

Granny M you should not feel bad. You totally need to charge for binding - that's a time and labor intensive process and I can't believe, unless is was her 1st quilt, that she would expect you to do that as part of the charge. I am getting my business off the ground as well and I learn with every...

No problem, ask away! Do you have a vertical and horizontal lock on your machine? That's what I used to sew the straight line you need to make the pocket for the rod. I have noticed that some of the long arm leaders already have the pocket on them. There are a couple of great demo videos if you search...
