  • Sugarloaf pattern

I'm looking for an antique quilting pattern called Sugarloaf. It consists of one-pieced pyramid and one solid pyramid alternated. It was shown on Fons and Porter episode 1307 as a quilt that Liz had purchased. Any help on finding this pattern would be appreciated. bonnielee

  • great grandma's quilt tops

My mother-in law has given me some quilt tops made by her mother. They have not been quilted. They were made some time ago, hand stitched using what looks like #10 embroidery thread. The fabric came from sacks chicken feed came in and pieces of old shirts and skirts. She would have made them in the 1940s...

  • Antique Quilt

I purchased this quilt at an estate auction for an old family friend. I have been unable to find out what the block is called. It is 3 blocks (18" ea) wide with a 3" strip between. If anyone has any idea what this quilt is called, I would love to know.

  • Re: Grandmother's Garden

Hi Gini, I just finished the last flower on the Grandmother's Garden quilt. I am connecting them to the main quilt today. I have a question about a facing, I have read that it may be the best way to bind the edge of this quilt to maintain the '30's feel, but I don't know how to do it...

  • Quilt pattern using antique handkerchiefs

I have about 50-70 antique handkerchiefs/hankies that belonged to my Mother, Grandmother and Aunt and I would LOVE to make a quilt with them. I have seen a basic pattern for handkerchief quilts, but it required cutting the handkerchiefs - I COULD NEVER DO THAT! Any ideas/suggestions?

  • Re: Special time of year for sewing

Hi Jo Ann, This is my first post. While I do quilt year round, I especially enjoy the fall. Here in the heart of Texas, fall arrives kind of late compared to other parts of the country, but as soon as it turns September, my thoughts naturally turn to the upcoming holidays, and I begin to get excited...

  • Re: Antique quilt

Althea, I have an idea, not a promise, since I am only part of the decision-making team, but... On Quilt Out Loud Mark & I are going to do an "Ask Mark & Jodie" segment for each episode. This is a great question for it. What we'd really, really like to do is get you on video asking...
